To be honest I was expecting better after reading so many positive reviews, but overall there was nothing wrong with this hotel, it serves the purpose, just don't expect too much. Being situated directly above McDonalds didnt exactly thrill me when we arrived, but it was not a problem for us. The room was quite small, as was the shower... More

After spending 4 days in Rome, 12 days on a Greece/Turkey cruise and 7 incredible days in Tuscany, my wife and I decided to spend our final night in Italy close to the airport, as we didn't want to stress out over the drive. Simply put, we read the Tripadvisor reviews and chose Hotel Scaletta in Ostia. I/we have no... More

Dear darsil325, first of all I want to thank you for having stayed in our hotel your last night in Italy before catching your flight: of course, having to “compete” with the memories of the beautiful places you described above, is a pretty big burden to carry for our small hotel. Moreover, I'd like to thank you for having spent... More

My husband and I decided to use our Emozione 3 gift box to overnight in this hotel, as we were catching an early flight from Fiumicino airport. The airport is only 15 minutes away in off peak hours, unfortunately it can take up to 45 minutes with the morning traffic. The hotel is located just in front of the sea,... More

Having read the reviews from last year, I booked to stay for a fortnight. I am not someone who likes to be out at night, and have found this location to give a good balance between hectic days out around Rome and quieter evenings in; sitting on the balcony looking at the calm sea. The only negative I can find... More

Seeing that the price of the room can be described as reasonable, everything was perfect in this absolutely delightful hotel in which we spent the last night in Italy after having travelled in Lazio for a week. (You can drive from there to Fiumicino airport in about 30 minutes even during the morning rush hour.) Try to get a second-floor... More

Prepare yourself - this is going to be a long review! A quick summary would be to tell you that this hotel deserves more than 2 stars and I would definitely come back! BOOKING: I booked a room at Hotel La Scaletta approximately 2 months in advance and I am happy I did. Rooms were booked fast due to their... More

This modern little hotel is right on the beach front main road overlooking the pier and amusements at Roma Lido. From the lovely balcony of our room we could see the beaches covered cheek by jowl with orderly rows of the same coloured umbrellas. To go to these beach umbrella areas costs around 15 Euros but hotel management offers a... More

Booked this hotel for our visit to Rome, we stayed for a week and there's not one fault I can find about it. The staff were a huge help, the rooms were wonderful and the entire hotel was spotless. I'd say the hightlights included the bed, the balcony and the location.

Booked this hotel for our weeks visit to Rome to see the sights and to watch the Italy v Wales rugby match. From the moment we arrived to our departure we could not have wished for more friendly, helpful and informative staff. The hotel is spotless. We had a large comfortable double bed, flat screen tv with a few English... More

this hotel was great for a weeks stay near Rome, it had a sea view and the staff were friendly and very helpful. It was easy to get to Rome from there. The breakfast was excellent as were the rooms. The hotel was very clean.
