We were the only ones staying in the hotel (mid-February 2015). It's not a bad experience, but overpriced (breakfast was lousy) and not in the town center. We loved Chivay -- the marketplace and plaza. But this was the wrong place to stay.

We stayed here for one night in January, 2015, with out adult daughter as part of a tour. It was very cold and wet and because the hotel is open air, we had to stay in our room because the common areas had no heat. Even though there was a fireplace, it was not lit. We had a heater in... More

This quaint hotel overlooks the Chivay township/surrounding mountains and is located over the river and up the hill. A very pleasant 15 minute walk from the main plaza. It has a prime position with very attentive, smiling staff. The rooms (make sure you get one with a view) are like lodges and have great showers, good lighting and our room... More

This place was interesting. There seem to be no square corners in the whole place. The windows were angles. It was a bit cold, but Chivay is pretty high up. There were extra blankets. And we were able to get extra towels for a trip to the hot springs, which were very nice too. We were only there one night... More

We had one night at this hotel prior to a trip to the Colca Canyon. We were given a smallish room accessed by external stairs from a courtyard. Cosy interior but quite dark wood. Hot water bottle delivered for the bed in the evening: a nice touch. We could see the active volcano steaming in the distance from one of... More

An ideal location for resting before a trip to the condors of Colca Canyon. The rooms are all in individual units (although beware of the door height if you are have high altitude!). The evening meal here was also excellent - try the local cuisine.

Chivay is an awesome place!! And the hotel is also nice. The staff is very friendly and one of the girls was very fond of Brazil and always willing to practice her Portuguese which made us feel at home. We needed a 'very early' breakfast and they served us very well and with a smile. I strongly recommend. The view... More

We enjoyed our stay here - although it was only one night. Our tour company booked this for us as part of our 2 day Colca Canyon tour. The hotel is definitely quirky and rustic but we enjoyed it. It was late August - winter - and it was pretty chilly but we had hot showers, a nice meal in... More

I didn't choose this hotel as it was part of a small group tour but I was more than happy with it and I'm really surprised to read all the negative comments about the staff. I dont remember them being overly friendly but I certainly don't remember any rudeness either. I was certainly helped with my luggage. More importantly when... More

Good room, great views. Plenty of blankets and two heaters that were needed initially as it was so cold that ice formed outside. This towards the end of May. Soon warmed up though and spent a very comfortable couple of nights. Ate once in the Hotel which was average but service was O.K.. Really liked the Hotel layout and its... More
