Stayed here overnight as a family before exploring Colca Canyon the following day. Charming hotel with stone lodges and classic Andean decorations. Rooms are heated both with a heater and electric blankets. Staff is friendly. Lobby offers free coca tea to adjust to the altitude. Breakfast buffet is nice. Upon arrival, we signed up for one of the planetarium tours.... More

This rustic hotel is set amidst lovely gardens full of birds and ammenities such as a heater and electric blanket, to make the stone cottages toasty for those icy high Andes nights. I made use of the excellent in house observatory for some informative star gazing. Service was sometimes a little slow at quiet times during the day and I... More

We stayed here for one night on a tour of Peru. The rooms were little individual bungalows which were very pretty. They were very clean and had extra heating as the temperature does drop at night. The ensuite shower was good. There was an observatory in the grounds. We visited the nearby hot springs which were good. We ate here... More

This hotel was booked by my tour company. It is perfect as a base to visit the colca canyons. Unusually the hotel has a planetarium and observatory as on a clear night it is perfect to observe the stars. I would suggest a visit to La Calera Hot Springs which are nearby. Rooms are large and mine had a heated... More

We stayed here for one night in April 2015 on a Mercury Direct tour of Peru. The attractive hotel complex almost seems to be out of context in Chivay as it is only a small 'working' town. The rooms are more like cottages and there is an observatory in the grounds. Being high up in the mountains, it got cold... More

Liked it. It's a well manicured corner of a less than manicured town. Good wifi, hot showers... supposedly the water in the rooms is potable, although we didn't chance it. Comfortable beds with an electric blanket. Our room had an electric radiator (we found these throughout Peru); it didn't make the room toasty, but it was much better than nothing.... More

For once I will start with the worst part of the visit which was the food....definitely not memorable. The rooms were charming and we were kept toasty warm with an electric blanked. No other heat in the room and it was a little cool for the morning shower (no hot water at night). Tlhe massage was quite good and reasonably... More

Located in Chivay, is this charming little hotel. friendly obliging staff. The rooms are stone built bungalows. Chivay goes cold at night but they have special electric blankets that turn back on if you start to get cold. The big drawback was the food. Just cremated. The fish dish overcooked until it was hard to chew and the next course... More

It is located in a village called Chivay, where basically is nothing to do despite taking a bath in Thermal Springs ;) That is why staying in a good hotel is a right choice. You can expect having a cup of a "mate de coca" when entering the lobby, fast wifi connection, COMFORTABLE BEDS (<3) plus tens of tv channels.

The rooms here are quite comfortable, and are cleaned daily. The massage for 120 soles (1hr) was also quite good. They were the hits. Dinner (the miss part of this review) was really disappointing, mainly because the options were limited, and what was served was 90% fat for a main and burnt crisp for dessert. With no feedback forms to... More
