This 1495 in has kept all of its wonderful features. My friends and I enjoyed a pleasant evening with very good food and good service. We went on a Saturday evening, my husband had the mussels, checking when he made our reservation that they would save some for him, they were good and lots of them. The rest of us... More

A quaint little pub with bags of atmosphere and good service, we went for a meal so no idea what the rooms are like. The portion sizes are extremely generous - perhaps over generous - and reasonably priced. The menu provides a good choice of options with a daily specials board. The food wasn't bad at all but the humongous... More

50 years ago the Angel was my local, even had my twenty first birthday party there so it was amazing to find it had not changed that much. Stayed over night bed & breakfast, the room was lovely, bed comfy and the bathroom well equipped. Yes breakfast menu was limited but it was well cooked, while we waited, fresh and... More

I have stayed here within the last couple of months on 3 different occasions now. On two occasions I travelled alone as a woman and on the other with 2 children. I have to stay its a gorgeous little place. Very friendly and welcoming, spotlessly clean, comfy beds and the food is delicious and reasonably priced. It is just outside... More

Firstly, I am a Bristol local and we have been going to the Angel regularly over the last few years. The food is amazing. We went this weekend and it still remains amazing. My partner had the ham, egg and chips and I had a gorgeous chicken burger with brie and cranberry (trust me... Its lush). The garlic bread is... More

We found this Inn on the Internet and it looked interesting. It was! 600 years old - quaint. Lovely spacious room - clean, comfy, quiet. We ate here in the evening and the food was first class. We had the pan seared lamb chops - lovely and tasty. The beer was spot on - crisp, cool and refreshing. Breakfast was... More

We stayed for a weekend and enjoyed ourselves. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a good size but shower was a bit iffy (kept going cold!). There are a few options for breakfast, priced at £5 or £8 which made the stay a bit more pricey than you initially think when looking at the room... More

If its 6 Nations, Sunday lunch, catch up with friends or a social event, this exquisite country pub drenched in local history works for me every time. What ever I want I get at the Angel. If I want some quiet time, or meet up with friends to laugh and chat. It always seems to work. The staff are friendly... More

We wanted a local pub/restaurant that was close to home but served quality food. We walked into the main bar area and found a bustling atmosphere. Ordered drinks and were shown to a sitting area with a cosy log burner in the centre of the room. How pleasant the room was. Not to many pub like knick knots. Just right... More

Have used this pub a lot and staff always welcoming especially Becky. Range of standard real ales and interesting ciders. Good wine selection at reasonable prices. Food is well done pub grub with a surprise , fresh mussells. It is a local pub not far from Bristol and is perfect at what it does. It is not a restaurant or... More

We don't plan on changing anytime soon, hope to see you again soon. A little tip for the mussels, freshly delivered from Cornwall every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, any of those days for an even more amazing taste! More
