We recently stayed at Eganridge for a wedding and stayed in the Dunsford House which had 6 rooms. We shared the room with another couple and were told the price would be $245 plus an additional $90 per night because there were 4 people in the room. Upon checkin they gave us a form to complete which gave the nightly... More

We attended a family wedding--about 70 attendees. The facilities are well organized in 2 buildings..a residence building with a reception area and the main building with a spa, golf facilities, and a nice banquet hall. The food was excellent--The meal was served buffet style with a nice selection of salads and veg. The roast beef was great--med-rare. The was lots... More

Have been there a few times now and will never go back...why stay open in the winter if you cannot provide a clean room, decent food and a staff on the property at night?...the staff in the winter are jacks and jills of all trades..admirable in an employee, yes; the best way to run a resort, I doubt it. We were looking for a break in winter and this didn't let us down. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Even though it was off season, the restaurant had a good menu with well prepared food. We talked to the inn keeper during our meal and she was interesting and friendly.... More

I stayed at Eganridge from January 22nd, 2014 to January 24th, 2014. It was my first visit to the resort. I had found cheap room rates on the Ontario's Finest Hotels, Inns and Spas (OFHIS) website. They advertised one night at approx. $120 (excluding taxes). My whole purpose for going away alone was to find a nice retreat that had... More

My spouse and I planned for a short road trip on Christmas day. Our criteria for the accommodation is simple. It only needed to be by the country side and have both jacuzzi and fireplace in the room. Oh yes, and may I add, the "decent price". We did not have to lower our expectations for the hotel to meet... More

Glad to be back for 3 sleeps over Christmas. This time the cottages were not open for the winter season so we booked a suite in the Dunsford House which we were looking forward to. But the day of our arrival unfortunately there was an issue with the heat. We had a call that morning from Linda who offered us... More

My husband and I have stayed numerous times at Eganridge Inn over the past 9 years and have always enjoyed our stay. This past weekend was absolutely wonderful due to the staff at the Inn. I wanted to say a special thank you to France for always being so friendly and making us feel welcome every time we visit the... More

We just got back from our second stay at this Inn. The first time was a gift from a family member and the second was another gift by way of a Jaunt coupon. We gave it two chances but we will never return. This is a pretentious hotel that is an adjunct to a 9 hole golf course. The course... More

Booked a night stay in a two bedroom "waterfront" cottage for a quick family reunion. The location is out of the way and around nothing. It's closer to Bobcaygeon than Fenelon Falls and although advertised as waterfront, there is nothing that makes it easy to get to the water. The cabin was average, definitely not high rated at all. We... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set atop an expansive ridge, our heritage estate overlooks scenic Sturgeon Lake in the heart of the Trent-Severn Waterway. Towering pines shade an historic, square-timbered manor house. Loon calls echo in the morning air. Lakefront sunsets bring a warm glow to the dining room. Through careful design we blend heritage romance with contemporary luxury. Our premier spa, scenic golf course and fine dining ensure a memorable visit. The Dunsford House is at the heart of the Eganridge estate. Carved from virgin pine forests on the shores of Sturgeon Lake, this gracious log manor home blends Canadian heritage with contemporary luxury. Named for the prominent English family who settled here in 1837, Dunsford House remains one of the region's finest square-timbered structures. Massive hand-hewn logs speak of the home's early 19th-century heritage. On the manicured grounds overlooking the lake, sit five luxuriously furnished one and two bedroom cottages. Rich in history and elegant in appointment, Dunsford House and the cottages rekindle the warmth and grace of an age long past. Enjoy the spectacular view from our spacious Terrace Rooms. Glass doors slide open to a private patio or balcony where you can watch islands emerge from the morning mist or listen to a loon's haunting call. We welcome you to sublime pampering at The Spa at Eganridge, a serene environment complete with hydrotherapy baths, Swiss showers and an extensive menu of body and skin care services. Eganridge's secluded setting eliminates distractions, so corporate events and business retreats become productive and pleasant. Corporate golf tournaments are a house specialty. We have excellent menus and facilities for business meetings. Treetops, our conference facility, seats up to 140 people. Your wedding dreams come true thanks to our photogenic waterfront setting, professional wedding planners and hostess. Our wedding menus and elegant reception room overlooking Sturgeon Lake make every reception special. The Eganridge golf course has one of the most scenic settings in the province, and most tees and holes have views of the lake. Housed in the estate's adze-hewn post-and-beam barn is a fully stocked golf and tennis shop. The pine-paneled dining room and screened-in deck offer panoramic views of the most splendid scenery in the Kawarthas. An acclaimed menu features regional ingredients presented in the classic French tradition. Our vintage wine selection is unparalleled in the region. Experienced, friendly staff will turn every meal into a memorable occasion. Dress is casual; ambiance is gracious. ... more   less
