If you want to feel welcome and well cared for from start to finish and enjoy first rate food and facilities, Sylvia and John Matthews deliver. Good value, top class. We would not hesitate to go back for more of the same at the earliest opportunity.

Windlestraw was a fantastic recommendation by friends. This boutique hotel is situated on the side of a hill, and our room was probably the most lovely and comfortable I have stayed in with a beautiful outlook over the Tweed. The owners, Sylvia and John, are very friendly and professional. The couple support current local artists and craftsmen as well as... More

Our two night DBB stay far exceeded our expectations - with delicious food worthy of a top class restaurant, lovely rooms with excellent views and every possible luxury, and charming hosts who made us feel very welcome. An excellent base from which to explore the Borders - simply the best! We will be back!

Had a two-night stay in late May. Charming hosts and super food. Nothing too much trouble. A splendid place from which to explore the attractions of the Borders Region. This is a real find to which we will return.
