Some towers have been renovated, and common areas such as the dining room are adequate. Located on the Ariau River, a tributary of the Rio Negro near Manaus, the hotel (towers) offers small boat rides to local villages, where you can see families processing rubber and cassava root, and you can fish for piranha, swim with pink dolphins, walk many... The hotel like ALL the hotels in Manaus is desperately in need of renovation. But please, don't let my words turn you off. First, if you can afford, stay in a Tarzan Suite, there are 7 of them. The one I stayed was "Caras". On my pathway, there were only 3 and mine was the last one, with our own... More

Spending a week in the Amazon at Ariau Towers is one of the best experiences of my life. The activities were so much fun and really a once in a life time kind of experience. The bar was also pretty great - delicious cocktails!! Saying all that, don't expect to be staying in a 5 star resort. It is run... More

Photo-shop and decades old pictures, can do wonders for hotels past their prime. The sad part, had they been honest and up front, chances are I still would have visited, but been much less disappointed upon arrival. You can tell at one time, this was an incredible place to stay. A majority of the staff tried to claim storms and... More

Thank you for your time in writing a review. All of our sale's offices advise clients that the hotel has been through numerous floods over the past few years due to deforestation up river and climate change. Every year from May - August there is a natural rise in water due to the melting of the snows in the Andes... More

Ariau Towers is a good jungle experience with third rate accommodations. The main draw, and only saving grace, is the list of activities and tours and excursions available. The most interesting ones are at extra cost, which we were not told about before arriving. The ones that come with the "all inclusive" package are mostly interesting, but for us not... More

Sleeping high atop the jungle in a literal treehouse ("Tarzan House") was quite an experience. The monkeys constantly got into everything, including my kids hair and snacks. The wildlife is absolutely everywhere - we picked up a swimming sloth in our canoe and parrots would literally fly up to you. Pink Dolphins swim alongside you. Was such a great stay... More

Best part of the trip: -Our guide John was incredibly knowledgeable regarding everything from the animals to the plants and people of the area. -Howler monkeys showed up at our treehouse one morning to greet us. There were about 10 of them literally outside our door. -swimming with the "pink dolphins" -amazon squirrel monkeys -piranha fishing -cayman spotting Worst -no... More

I have recently come back from Brazil on vacation and spend 5 nights in November at Ariau Towers. Before i start on how fantastic my stay was let me clarify a few things The hotel is not 4 * by any means, its needs some serious investment to gain its original splendour , which from talking to a number of... Worth going for the experience of being in the middle of the Amazon. Right by the river. Surrounded by animals, mostly birds and monkeys. Now when it comes to the hotel it's not comfortable, it feels like barracks. Think about it as a camp where what matters is the environment, not the hotel itself. All in all definitely a must,... Thank you for your review of the hotel. And yes, Ariau affords visitors with a close communion with the Amazon’s flora and fauna. We see that you stayed at the hotel in December 2013. The hotel has renovated their standard rooms since your stay, doubling in size and although still rustic and simple, more comfortable for our guests. We hope... More
