We are both widely traveled and I had visited the Amazon before -- Tariri beat all our expectations. It's been built clearly with a lot of love (and all by hand as we discovered) by a wonderful family. Some highlights: - Location: Just two hours from the Manaus airport, amidst pristine wilderness, on the margins on the Rio Negro. Who... More

Our family ( kids ages 9 and 5) just spent 5 amazing days at Tariri. This is paradise! An idyllic setting, truly immersed in the jungle on the banks of the Rio Negro. The staff is amazing. Fabiola and Germano make you feel at home in their home in the jungle. The delicious local dishes are all carefully prepared by... More

We were hoping to experience life on the Amazon up-close and were thrilled with our experience. This is a small, family-run operation and what comes through most is the passion and love for this part of the world, and the desire to show it to visitors. The lodge is situated on a channel of the Rio Negro in a quiet... More

We are a family with two boys 12 and 15 years old. We spent four days (3 nights, wished we had stayed one more night) in Tariri, and every step of the trip was without problems, from Ednaldo picked us up at the airport until we were met by Fiona and the cute little monkey Inca. That was really a... More

I was nervous about visiting a jungle lodge for a few days, fishing for piranha and hunting for caymans and such, but my husband really wanted to take the family. After friends recommended this lodge and told me about their experience, I decided we should give it a go. I am so glad we did! One of the unique things... More

My family and I loved our 4 days here. Lovely cabins, beautiful river, quiet hospitality, delicious and copious food, interesting excursions. Only drawback is one rather temperamental monkey and some of the excursions felt a little over red ( eg 11 of us on a forest walk). Overall though fabulous and highly recommended. Thank you Germano and family!

My sister and I recently stayed at this wonderful lodge for a 3 night 4 day visit. We couldn't have been happier with the experience. The lodge is 4 years old and was built by Germano, Fabiola and family members. What an amazing place they have. It's difficult to decide what the most fantastic activity was, but I think navigating... More

This was everything we were hoping the Amazon would be and more. Our family (us and our two kids, 3 and 4) had so much fun! The fun started when we got off the boat and the resident monkeys ran to greet us. These monkeys were so friendly and playful! In the morning, they would peek at us from outside... More

What an incredible four days we just had at Tariri Lodge! With Germano, the lodge owner, as our guide, we took jungle walks, swam with the dolphins, played with the monkeys, took boat trips to native communities, fished for piranha, and just sat and listened to the sounds of the forest. We lived in a beautifully decorated thatched roof log... More

If you are undecided between choosing Tariri and a more luxurious option (although a limited few) to stay deep in the Amazon forest, I would say go for Tariri, you will not regret it. Tariri gives you the quintessentially rustic experience of staying close to the heart of the forest and the river, such that you are never really cut-off... More
