Villa Serena is a beautiful colonial style building which is nice and light and open with wonderful sea views. We loved Rincon beach which is nearby. Wifi was very patchy although this seems to be par for the course in Dom Rep. Main disappointment was the restaurant. Food took ages to arrive and many things on the menu weren't available.... More

Spacious room adorned with hibiscus flowers and a private balcon with rocking chairs. Our bathroom had its own small hot water tank which never worked that well. Mosquitoes are an issue. Beautiful well-kept gardens, great pool, beach chairs on the lawn and by the pool and small quiet beach with its own deserted island. The view - it's perfect.

The minute you walk into this hotel the first thing that strikes you is the view!! You walk in the door and see right out to the ocean!! The pictures on tripadvisor and the hotel website are what drew me to this hotel and in reality it's even better!! We spent six nights here. As we were on our Honeymoon... More

Villa Serena is a beautiful hotel set in with only 20 rooms. It is very relaxed and the scenery is fantastic. The nearest beach is a 7 min walk away but the garden area and pool is also a great place to relax. The restaurant is okay but sometimes at a Dominican pace. However the food is good and at... More

As you come into Las Galeras take the last turning on the left before you hit the beach. At the end of the road turn right and Villa Serena will be just ahead of you. Don't take too much notice of the approach as this hotel, with just 22 rooms, is a gem. Don't expect loads of facilities, but if... More

Villa Serena is tucked away just off the main roads in Las Galeras making it a relaxing and quiet setting. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well presented, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the grounds are well kept. Overall the décor and design of the hotel gives it an old-worldly feel which we quite enjoyed. The view from... More

Excellent place to stay and relax in a very pleasant environment. The hotel grounds are superb, our room was very nice and the restaurant is quite OK. Don't expect a large beach (there are many coves to explore in the area, and huge beaches between Rio San Juan and Sosua), but enjoy a quiet day in the breeze and a... More

I'll get the bad out of the way: - The curtains in the room are completely worthless so expect bright daylight in your room at 6 a.m. - There is no beach here so to lounge by the water you lay on grass and not sand. - There are mosquitoes in the room which they are aware of but choose... More

Family vacation at the Dominican Republic. 7 people, 3 rooms. First of all the place is amazingly beautiful, breathtaking vistas of the sea and the mountains, right on the beach, quiet, quiet, could not be any more different than the usual resorts/beach hotels all included that populate the touristic offers for the DR. In the far end of the northern... More

This is a lovely, friendly, clean, quiet, affordable, relaxing little gem on the northern peninsula of the DR. It is off the beaten path in an area that is far from the maddening crowds. You will not hear a single steel drum or be hassled by anyone trying to sell you something on the beach or near the pool. I... More
