This is a really nice place, beautiful location, great food, and very gentle and cool owners. The center of Las Galeras is a 35/40 minutes walk (a nice walk) away. The view is spectacular from the restaurant. I've stayed in the cabana. It's a really nice place to stay there, open, without windows in the upper floor, it's nice to... More

We didn't stay here, but came out for dinner. I have to say the atmosphere, drinks, food. location and service were all amazing. I would highly recommend coming here to eat. John was super friendly and directed us to a short cut that saved us a long walk in the dark up a big hill.

Went here earlier this year. The Catrin was friendly when I arrived and made sure the taxi didn't rip me off. They charged me next to nothing to sleep in a hammock in one of the straw huts. I slept like a baby surrounded by the sounds of crashing waves. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and they were happy... More

El Cabito has a beautiful location, at the very end of the Samana peninsula. Most people are drawn to the restaurant, which is situated right on top of a cliff. In theory you can (in season) see humpback whales breeding out in the bay, but we didn't; mind you, we went on a full-on whale-watching expedition on the open sea,... More

I can see how this can be an excellent place if all things go smoothly, and especially if you have your own transportation. We took the van from our hotel, and no one told us it would cost 150RD per person (if you take any gua-guas in the DR you know how expensive this is) which they tack onto the... More

I just wanted to thank Catrin & John for having the vision to create the uniquely beautiful El Cabito B&B and restaurant at the edge of a cliff overlooking Rincon Bay. Visions of our endless luxurious breakfasts and delicious grilled seafood dinners on the outstanding terrace - with wonderful ambience and warm-hearted hosts - will remain with us for a... More

I have stayed at El Cabito numerous times over the course of my 3 years in the Dominican Republic. I wish it was closer to the town I lived in so I could have gone more often. It is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and fun. The restaurant serves excellent food. It is a little pricey, but you are paying for an... More

I loved El Cabito. It was a little difficult getting there but it was worth it. It was very rustic and beautiful. I recommend this place to anybody.

My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights here, and had a great experience. At first we were almost scared off by the rough road, but once at the top of the hill we found it was well worth it. I would definitely recommend a 4x4, but our rented Fiat Panda made it just fine! The location is amazing, high on... More

This is a great place, but you need to do some homework before you set off. The samana peninsula generally has very poor roads, and the road up to el Cabito is extremely rocky, so make sure to get a 4*4. We took a saloon and (2 flats later) regretted it intensely. Otherwise, the hotel itself is lovely, in a... More
