El Cabito was the best accomodation during our trip. It is a few rustic natural tree houses in the jungle, it gives you calm and a lot of privacy and they are full of cute details that reminds you that you are at a seaside. The whole place looks like from a lifestyle magazine and is also situated in a... More

We were staying at Grand Paradise during the big winds, waves and tides a week ago. Easy walk. When we arrived we were "awed" by the power of the waves crashing into the cliffs with seaspray easily going higher than the cliffside deck. But to hear the WHOOSH of air coming from the dragon's lair. What a roarious whoosh and... More

We booked El Cabito after seeing a review in the Guardian newspaper which recommended as one of the top places to stay in the Caribbean on a budget. We weren't disappointed. The restaurant served the best food we had in the Dom Rep - everything totally fresh and many dishes with a Spanish flavour. The view from the restaurant is... More

This place is all about the restaurant, which is amazing, if pricey, although the only vegetarian option for my partner was a Paella for two people, so I couldn't try the fish options. The rooms are fine if you don't need privacy, (no windows, and apparently no locks, although we managed to somehow lock ourselves out and had to climb... More

Great hospitality. Because of bad planning from our side,we went there on a Tuesday. The only day of the week the are closed. But Rosa a super sweet lady offers us a quick view of the restaurant and great ocean view. Rosa felt sorry for us that we came by taxi al the way from sosua. She offerd to make... More

This was our home sweet home in Las Galeras, Samana, Dominican Republic. El Cabito is well known by adventurous souls as a must visit place to eat. Even the famous American Chef Anthony Bourdain ventured here, purposely to satisfy his taste buds with the best seafood dishes in Las Galeras. But not many people know that El Cabito is also... El Cabito is, by far, one of the most amazing gems I have stumbled upon in all of my travels. A bit hidden in Las Galeras, but totally worth the trek up the unpaved road. We had to change our reservation around quite a bit due to extreme weather that cancelled our flight from NY, which worried me. There was... More

We stayed at El Cabito for two nights. The hotel is in a peaceful location – about 3-4 kms out of Las Galeras which means you either need to pay around 100pesos each way for a motoconcho or walk for around 30 – 40 mins. The cabins are basic but fine as long as you do not mind sleeping under... More

El Cabito gets the very good rating mostly because of its incredible setting atop a cliff. It is definitely off the beaten path, although their website has excellent directions to find it. While the website describes how to get there using public transportation, I can't imagine going without a private car. It's a long way down rough roads, farther than... More

I think these three adjectives are the most convenient to describe this place. In the middle of nothing, you can find this little space full of calm, and enjoy the amazing views of the caribbean with the best mojito and relax music. You can go with your friends, your couple or alone, because it is sure you will find someone... More
