My 5 nights at La Hacienda are without any doubt my best memories from the Dominican Republic. Don't expect 5* rooms, but they're charming, the atmosphere at the hostel is wonderful and you'll get anything you need. It 's clean, there is a equiped kitchen and the living room is a great place to discuss the discoveries of the day!... More

We had a 3 nights reservation at the hostel but when we arrived and saw how isolated the place was, decided to cancel the last night. Karen was not happy at all with our decition and tried to forced us to stay the 3 nights, finally she agreed and everything went smoothly. The place is nice and clean but the... More

Hello guys, I have a lot of work this time of the year and less time available to be around my guests. I'm really sorry that you experienced this as "not being welcome". I never force people to stay, it wouldn't be good for the atmosphere at the hostel. However, if you make a reservation for a certain number of... More

We didn't stay here but took an excursion by horse with Karin who runs these 2 hotels and also does excursions by horse. The excursion was very nice. Karin accommodated our schedule and in general she is a very nice, sweet person who truly and genuinely cares about her horses. It was not cheap and was rather costly for a... More

I stayed there with my 2 year old daughter and my mother for a 3 day 2 night stay. It was wonderful. They make you feel like family, really comfortable. The atmosphere is very intimate, felt like paradise. Ronald, the caretaker and his family were friendly and there for anything we needed. They really took good care of us there.... More

La Hacienda provides peace and tranquility for travels looking for a place off the beaten path. The hostel is basic, yet provides all you need at an affordable price. The open air communal kitchen and dinning area give travels a perfect place to share meals and stories after a day of exploring secluded beaches, coastal forests and the local village.... More

Karin's lovely home on the outskirts of Las Galeras is far enough away to be absolutely free of noise except for the constant breeze. The rooms are basic but clean, and the bonus of a shared kitchen is unexpected at the bargain price. You can walk in any direction to beautiful secluded beaches, or to Las Galeras for restaurants and... More

I got up every morning and walked down to the beach to watch the sun rise (about 5 minutes.) If you want to go into town, you can either walk about 20 minutes along the gorgeous ocean front to get there, or you just stand out in front of the hotel and wait for a motoconcho and give him 50... More
