This is an older hotel in a very good location on the Detroit River. The room was cleaner than average. The hotel (1-person) staff was friendly and informative regarding local places of interest. If you're looking for a modern big-name hotel with all of the amenities, this is not the place. If you want a good nights sleep with basic... More

I have stayed at Duffy's 3 times in the last 8 months. I'm staying on business so really not looking for a lot. My room has been updated and is basic. It's the friendly staff and the excellent location that is the real deal. On the waterfront in downtown historic Amherstburg. Everything you want or need is just steps away.

The room was clean and warm. Bedding fresh and soft towels. Place had the best water preasure in the showers that I have ever experienced. It was a little dated in some aspects...but it is an Amhurstburg landmark. Great view. Awesome accomidating staff...as we were a late arrival. They seem to be updating this motel and for price point....better than... More

There has been some cosmetic updating but sadly the motel needs a major overhaul. Room was clean. However the plumbing is still very stretchy. Toilet was old and was stained. Staff at the hotel are pleasant. A/C is very noisy - sounds like a plane taking off when it starts up. Tavern is now closed.

This place is a huge disappointment!!!! It was once a decent place to stay in but it has gone down hill over the years and lack of care investment in keeping it clean and updated are very obvious. During a recent stay, we found the room to be dirty, the bathroom toilet looked unclean, there was a broken soap dispenser... More

The rooms are dated decor-wise, and it is a standard old motor inn. We took over several rooms for a funeral this week, and the rooms facing the water were clean, with good mattresses. The ability to gather outside on the patios and visit with others was wonderful. The air conditioners were no noisier than most motels that I've stayed... More

I have stayed here a few times because its the only place in town to stay and I think its taken advantage of. If one major hotel chain came into town this place would be out of business in a matter of months. It is old dirty and so outdated. The bed had a cigarette burn in the sheets, cobwebs... More

We heard Duffy's was a good place to eat. We ate on the patio overlooking the marina and river, nice view. Ordered the daily special and a veggy wrap. The special was grilled salmon - it came overcooked, a bit crusty on the edges and dry, no flavor and the size of an inner palm. A simple dish of basically... More

we stayed here this summer, was ok , nothing special. close to where we wanted to be so we forked over 95$ instead of 68 at Windsor super 8. the pool was nice, the park next door beautiful. but the rooms were extremely dusty and we had trouble sleeping with the a/c making as much noise as a jet fighter.... Duffy's has been around a long time and unfortunately it's slowly feeling its age. We took a room there on a recent visit to see friends, and while the room was clean, it was pretty run down (e.g. the thin blanket had holes, the decorative pillows were frayed with stuffing coming out). Nothing really bad, just numerous things that make... More
