We stopped here for dinner on our way back from the Isle of Skye - although it is a remote location it is easily accessible as it's on the main road (A87). The staff were really friendly and the service was very good. There was a good range of food on the menu - to satisfy both adults and children.... More

Stayed there for two days last week as I was going to go walking on the Glen Sheil ridge. First impressions are great as you drive in the beautiful glen and the hotel is on the side of the road. Booked in and got shown to my room which was lovely, warm and very clean. Next stop the bar and... More

I and some friends have just stayed here for the second year in succession. Four nights each time in the Clubhouse. It didn't disappoint either visit. We were up to climb the surrounding mountains which were superb. We found the accommodation and hospitality perfect for our purposes. Every evening the inn was a very warm and welcoming base. There is a... More

We called in after a trip North on way back with two dogs on a 7 month old golden retriever what a great well com the waitress on duty was excellent the owner brought her children out to play with the dogs couldn't have been more welcoming. To top it the food was a modern approach to Scottish traditional dishes... More

I know that opinions about the Cluanie can vary. I've stayed here on numerous occasions in recent years as I collect Scotland's Munro mountains. My latest stay was for a single night on the way to Skye. I avoid staying on Skye due to a paucity of really decent value hotels. The Cluanie is both convenient for Skye and sits... More

I stayed for 3 nights as a base whilst walking in the hills, on a B&B basis and ate in the bar in the evenings. For the walker this hotel is fabulous: comfy beds, hot baths, good beer - all the things needed after a long day in the hills. Bar food is reasonably priced, but portions are very large.... More

As this is the only Inn to speak of for some miles you would think they could clean up here. We were expecting a Walkers Inn, slightly rustic, hearty food, cosy, papers lying around on the odd sofa, but it had the air of a Gastropub without the Gastro! The food was ok but only just. Absolutely no atmosphere, featureless,... More

The Cluanie used to be a place where - after a hard day on the hills - you could be assured of a friendly welcome and great food. On this visit, the reception was frosty and the food terrible. I.e. cremated scollops that had the consistency of a rubber door stop and a black pudding that would have survived a... More

And no good reason to stop. I have written a lot of reviews, and they were always open and honest. Seldom have I seen fit to really berate an establishment until, I arrived at the Cluanie Inn. It has never been my misfortune to deal with more arrogant, self important folk in my life. The customer, it seems, is a... More
