The food and service were great for a convenient stop-off but I really felt that charging £1.50 for 30 minutes' Wi-Fi having paid for drinks and food (and a tank of fuel at the pumps) was unacceptable. These days, provision of Wi-Fi should be regarded as good customer service, so please don't treat it as a means to make money.

The perfect place to stop to refuel coming off the hills or as abase to stay for ease of access to many fine peaks & ridges. Nice, quiet rooms, pet-friendly (warmly welcomed in fact), well stocked bar & good rangy/hearty breakfast. Priced reasonably too with welcoming staff.

Unable to find accommodation on Skye, we managed to book one night at the Cluanie Inn on Mon 15th June. We arrived at Claunie Inn at 7pm and found that instead of a standard twin room, we'd been put in a huge family room. It was a real WOW as not only was the room so spacious and beautifully furnished,... More

Excellent stop off on way to Uig in Skye. Nice room with spectacular views of the mountains. Very good efficient and professional staff serving excellent food in a very polite and courteous manner. Well done a credit to Scottish Tourism.

This hotel has very good location in the middle of nowhere which is perfect in Scotland, nice scenery and nature. Hotel is old and has history but if you need silent for sleeping don't choose room no.8 - we had stupid neighbours and we could hear every word in the night and door closing is very laud. When it's raining... More

Disappointing to arrive this morning at 8.15 after a long journey and be refused any food or drink at all. Large signs outside advertise food and coffee. I live in Plockton, and have stopped before there, and enjoyed bar meals and coffee. This morning we hoped to have coffee and a couple of bacon rolls. No chance! The waitress told... More

Is there a better place to stay after an epic, long day in the hills? I doubt it. the Cluanie Inn is ideal for any "Munro-baggers"; in close proximity to the South Glen Shele Ridge; Brothers Ridge and the Five Sisters of Kintail. It would also be good for anyone exploring the West Highlands and a base or stopover. The... More

Stayed here for the weekend while walking in the area, including the South Glen Shiel Ridge (not for the faint-hearted, btw). Great location and lovely food and welcome, as always. Highly recommended - does what it says on the tin!

The husband and wife proprietors of the property have created an especially welcoming atmosphere with updated, clean comfortable rooms. We got a good night's sleep thanks to the quiet room and comfortable bed. We especially enjoyed the restaurant with its uncomplicated menu choices such as fish and chips, soups, and Cullen Skink. Its remoteness in the highlands and outdoor activities... More

We stopped here for a light bite both on the way to, and returning from, Skye. The food was good and good service to go with it. I'd strongly recommend the Cullen Skink. It's a long way from anywhere else, although the road can be busy, especially at weekends in summer. I stayed one night in this hotel 50 years... More
