We stayed there for one night just before heading to Ben Nevis. The receptionist was kind enough to wait for us as we were arriving just after midnight. The room was very well prepared and had all the necessary amenities. We could see the lake just outside of our window, which was very impressive. Overall, very happy with the stay... More

Very accessible by public transportation. Citylink buses stop there several times a day between Fort Williams and Inverness. Make sure to take food with you, although a few staples and canned goods are available for purchase. No wifi, but one computer with internet access for 3 pounds/hour. But, if you're staying there you are probably there to enjoy the location... More

Without a doubt the nicest hostel I have ever stayed in! Beautiful location overlooking Loch Ness with a huge common area to relax and meet other travelers. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors! Additionally, the lady working at the hostel made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in... she was wonderful! Can't wait to return to Loch... Loved this hostel, I can highly recommend, if you're looking for something basic but great value. The hostel is small, and looks a little shabby from the outside, but has clean, warm and comfortable rooms. We had two sockets in our room, so I guess this must be missing only in some rooms. The bathroom was shared but fine. We... More

If you like the YHA experience you will love this place. It is in a great location, right on the banks of the Loch. We had a private room (without toilet) and it was clean, neat and comfortable. We had two powerpoints in the room for charging the usual equipment everyone travels with these days. The toilet and shower were... More

We stayed in a private room here in May. The room was perfectly adequate and had a double bed on the bottom and a single bunk bed above it. There are no plug sockets in the rooms which was really strange. There was one socket in the hallway which people were using, but everyone else had to plug stuff into... More

well positioned for monster spotting this is yes a basic hostel but rooms are clean and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped and spacious - however it is hostel warden hannah and her welcome and her home baking that take this hostel up to excellent and AND it has at least one spacious single occupancy room with basin and h/c... ~I stayed here with two of my friends in what i was told was 'best room in scotland'. However, i found it VERY BASIC for the price. The pillow was non existent. We did have a towel each which was great but I did not have chance to use the towel because the shower was so bad. It dribbled down... More

This was such a lovely hostel on the very back of Loch Ness - which is enough to make me love it. Some people might skip this potential stop on the Great Glen Way and plough on the next stop, but I am so glad we stayed here. It was by far the most atmospheric and beautiful place to stay.... More

A group of 4 of us stayed here for 1 night during May 2013 whilst walking the Great Glen Way. This was a fantastic hostel, right on the banks of Loch Ness in Altsigh, with great views across the loch. The hostel was small and personal, and the service was friendly and first class, with home baking available. Although we... More
