What a lovely surprise to find this beautiful hotel just outside Valognes. The approach is down a track and the hotel is set in lovely grounds. We stayed in a lovely large room, with a nice ensuite overlooking the gardens. It was very comfortable. This is a great base from which to explore and there are some brilliant places to... More

Dream of a beautiful old manoir built of stone and steeped in history, surround it with lovely gardens, fields and orchards, and staff it with a friendly and knowledgeable host who speaks excellent English, and you will awake to find yourself at Manoir de Savigny in the heart of Normandy. My husband and I spent a week there with the... More

My husband and I and another couple decided to visit the Normandy region of France and found this quaint manor to stay in for a couple of nights. We were delighted when we arrived and saw just have special this place was. Eric, the owner was very helpful. Our rooms were very comfortable and quite. The location is perfect for... More

We wanted a special place in a location so we could visit the WWI battle site beaches and the America, English and German cemeteries. Manoir de Savigny was spectacular. It's a 16th century manor house that the owners, Eric and Corrine have done an amazing job turning into a 16th century inn with modern conveniences like wifi. The room was... More

Have just returned from an eight day stay at the "Gite" on this old world location. The host Eric was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and gracious. He gave us all kinds of tips about where to go and what to see. The breakfast was great, fresh croissants and breads picked up from the bakery each morning. He's done a wonderful job restoring... We had a lovely stay at the manor - an exquisite and tranquil location, with a lovely large room and en suite. Eric was very friendly and helpful, and thankfully his English is perfect, as my French is pretty poor! A stone's throw from Valognes and the national road, it was a great base for local attractions. Highly recommended, we'd... More

What a beautiful place to stay out in the norman countryside. We used this a our launching pad to explore Normandy, and would have stayed longer if we knew ahead of time how nice it was. Big rooms, spacious bathroom, lovely gardens, nice breakfast. It is a little hard to find in the dark when you GPS fails, so make... More

Great place. Big beautifully furnished room with views over the lovely grounds and fabulous large bathroom. Eric was very friendly, helpful and accommodating, but didn't see much of Corinne. Good breakfast. Quiet, relaxing; perfect for a weekend away or as a base to explore the area. Valognes is just a short drive away. NB you will need to pay by... More

We stayed one night at the Manoir, before catching the morning ferry from Cherbourg (less than 30 minutes away) but it would certainly be an excellent base for a longer period. Eric was most welcoming and showed us to our chosen room which had an African theme, including related artifacts on the walls and leopard-print curtains! It was quirky and... More

A wonderful place, extremely comfortable. The family suite is perfect, with a mezzanine level for the children, though young children would need to be watched on spiral staircase. Lovely decor, spacious. Welcoming host who is very informative about the local area. All in all, a real treasure (and only 15 minutes from Cherbourg).
