I'm still zenning-out from my weekend excursion to The Maven Gypsy! I love this place. Kevin and J.P. were so very friendly, welcoming, sincere and helpful to my girlfriend and I. We even stayed there a week before they were officially opened, and they treated us like royalty! I love the house--it's so comfortable and lovely. The cabins are cozy... More

After arriving later at night, we were offered tea and dessert. It was a nice surprise, and one we really enjoyed! The room we stayed in was nicely decorated with antique furniture and gorgeous quilts. Our host was lovely and quite chatty. Breakfast was great - we had homemade yogurt, granola and fruit followed by French toast and unlimited tea... More

Loved my stay at the Maven Gypsy! Right from he start, we were welcomed warmly and taken care of. The cottages are clean and comfortable (and you can hear the ocean!) I would recommend this B and B to anyone who is traveling through Cape Breton. Beautiful beach across the road that is accessible at all times.

We are still on a one-week trip to the East Coast and countless times a day we reminisce about our incredible stay at the Maven Gypsy. We were lucky enough to enjoy cottage 3 which was incredibly clean, warm and cozy. As a bonus we also got to enjoy the company and comfort of the B&B's main house, stopping in... More

We arrived at cabin 1 fri night as we had booked it for the weekend. Upon settling in within an hour spotted a mouse running from the bathroom to the kitchen, totally grossed us out we spoke to Kevin the manager and he brought us a trap..He told us a month ago there was a snake inside the cabin. Dave... More

Good Afternoon Valued Maven Gypsy Guests, My name is Marie and I read with sadness your review of your stay here at the Bed and Breakfast. The fall colors and the Keltic Music Festival are in full swing and it truly is a wander to behold. I am so sorry a mouse invaded your privacy and caused you so much... More

During our two night stay we had a fantastic experience at the Maven Gypsy. Our hosts went out of their way to accommodate our needs, were exceptionally friendly and helpful and were genuinely kind individuals. Our room was exactly what was advertised and what we expected. We couldn't have asked for more! To top it off, Kevin makes a FANTASTIC... More

We arrived after a lovely day of exploring the Cape Breton Highlands Park, doing lots of hiking and looking forward to a hot shower and a restful evening, and were somewhat disappointed. The host was not available and had written notes on a whiteboard about who was in which room or cabin. Another couple was waiting and had already checked... More

Four of us stayed at the Maven Gypsy, in rooms 3 and 4. The rooms were clean and spacious, and it felt like we were just visiting someone's home. Kevin is a wonderful host, letting us tour the kitchen and providing us with snacks as we relaxed in the breakfast area with some beer the evening we arrived. Breakfast was... More

Our second stay at the Maven Gypsy located on the Cabot Trail, completed the Cape Breton experience of friendly and sociable folks. Kevin, the Manager and JP the owner, presented clean, comfortable rooms, full breakfast, and a tour of grounds. Good value for the cost and pleasant hospitality.

Cabin's were very nice, they include everything you would want (shampoo, soap, pots and pans, coffee grinds, utensils). Beds were small but comfy, and the space is used really well. The ocean is a 3 minute walk away. The host, Kevin, was amazing. Delivered flowers as a welcome, hosted a campfire and invited all to come out, made breakfast in... More
