If one has to stay somewhere in Swaziland, it's for sur in Phophonyane Falls Eco and Nature reserve. Great location and trail, excellent service and - if you're lucky - interesting coffee time with the owner who decided to create this diversified dans eco place. Great place to say - even for 2-3 days, which will allow you to start... More

We spent one night in Beehive 1 after spending two nights in Ezulwini Valley on our way to Kruger/Blyde River Canyon. We only spent 1 night because this was our splurge hotel. We were pleased that we went. The setting is beautiful--after driving through timber forests, you arrive and a beautiful, natural forest that makes you sad the surrounding area... More

We recently stayed in both the beehive accommodation and the cottages at Phophonyane, opting for self catering accommodation. The setting is lovely, and the main hotel area well appointed. The beehives are novel and pleasant, although the cottages were distinctly average and in need of a facelift. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Our package included breakfast, which... Beautiful scenery, very nice restaurant with a terrace and views. The menu is limited and reasonable quality in the evenings, the breakfast is very good though. The accommodation in the cottages is good, quite small and didn't really have a lounge, but comfortable and excellent beds. The falls and the natural swimming pool (not the one by the restaurant) are... More

We arrived late at Phophonyane but had a warm welcome from the staff. Our cottage was spacious, with a huge comfy bed, but some of it was a little tired looking. We spent the day walking the various trails by the river and waterfalls; there was a bizarre lack of wildlife about but the setting was lovely and well worth... More

My husband and I spent three days at Phophonyane Falls this month and had a really great time. We stayed in a lovely clean and well appointed beehive, which added to the peaceful and romantic experience. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was well cooked and of very good quality - especially the breakfast! The... More

On our way to Kruger, we found the Ecolodge a perfect stop on the way. Swasiland is easily accessible and crossing trough only takes a few hours. The ecolodge offers spacious houses hidden in nature and a restaurant, so you do no have to leave the resort at all. There are a hiking routes that start directly from the lodge,... More

We popped in spontaneously to look at the falls and spend the rest of the day on the deck relaxing. The service is good, the food is fantastic. We enjoyed our day visit so much that on the way out we booked a stay so we can come back! It is so beautiful!

The trip to Phophonyane Falls is a great experience in itself. Lovely scenery all around. But we were not very satisfied with our cottage. Especially because of what we paid for it: 120 euros a night. We were expecting something more than a broken fridge, a ground flour stuffed with beds and one tiny sofa. The bathroom felt dirty. The... More
