As RCI memebr booked a 2 BR village cottage no.33, a re-furbished one. Easily accommodate 6 but we were 3 adults and 2 children. Karma Royal Group staff was very helpful. My wife loved to cook in the kitchen for the grand children.Great location, village atmosphere and very peaceful. Staying was great here. Downside 32 kms distance from town, commuting... More

This is a difficult review to write. The Belle Villa Resort shares the site with the newly owned Royal Belle Vista Country Club. Essentially the Belle Vista is a privately owned restaurant and a group of villas. We met the owner and he is a very nice person who invited us to the grand opening of his restaurant up the... More

Elephants- that is the reason to come to this part of Thailand near Chang Mai. You really need a car here. DO NOT elect to take the hotel transfer unless you are going to walk everywhere and eat at the hotel The hotel is NOT in Chang Mai- about 40 minutes drive away, just past Hang Dong (a very small... This is an older hotel/resort. We were in a hotel room. Really too far from town, a good 40 minute ride by bus around winding road. Pleasant enough if you get a good price. We paid AUD$200 for one week. No breakfast included. Restaurant meal we had was nice, nothing flash, but generally expensive. We ended up buying frozen meals... More

I really enjoyed staying here. The rooms were good maybe a little old/run down. The location was very quiet and surrounded by green. The food wasn't really the best though. With very average breakfast and expensive lunches and dinner. Thankfully there is more restaurants not so far away. But it quite important to rent a car if you come here... More

What a wonderful place to spend a few days just relaxing in the peace and silence, if you ignore the wildlife singing to you through out the day. We stayed in a two-bed villa with plenty of room for our friends who sadly did not come this time. The good point about the resort are too many to list, but... More

Stayed here as part of a Northern Thailand Tour but only overnight – everyone on our tour wished we had arrived earlier just to enjoy the tranquility of the Resort. It is a good 40 minute drive out of Chiang Mai but of course that would depend on the traffic. Service was good on arrival, bags to our room without... More

Barely a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was expensive and not good at all. Theres no activities here except a walk outside the "resort" to a waterfall. The grounds feel like suburban neighborhood with brick houses. A couple of dirty streams. Not a good view of the surrounding mountains and landscping a bit wild. Pool is nice but was too cold... Stayed here in 2010 and 2012. Return here again in 2014, expecting things to deteriorate over time. But, to my surprise, the furnishing and facilities in my favourite cottage numbered 8 have much improved. The toilets and living rooms have been renovated. New heaters are provided for the toilets and kitchen sink and wifi was installed in the unit. Some... More

We stayed in one of the time share units. The first room was an old style 2 bedroom cottage. While large, it was dark, dank and totally uninviting. After one night, we moved to a regular hotel type room and it was better but still old, lots of bugs and certainly not 3 or 4 star resort as advertised. The... More
