We've stayed previously under different management. It was much better then. Decided to risk it although we were very suspicious of the glowing reviews from multiple first time TA reviewers. I took them with a pinch of salt and was right to do so. I could easily have dropped this review to two rather than three. Staff were friendly and... More

Lovely little hotel in an equally lovely village. We had a very warm welcome by Tracy and employees. There was a wood burning fire in the hearth, which is apparently prone to catching fire if they are not careful. It did create a woody, smoky smell throughout the hotel too. Anyhow there was a good range of drinks available, to... More

Many thanks for you review. I am pleased that you will come back and stay with us and you are more than welcome. My husband and myself are working hard to improve all areas of our Inn so we embrace all comments to help us along. The building is 500 years old so the little creeks in the floor boards... More

We chose this hotel because it was a convenient meeting place. Tracy and Colm are very welcoming and tried very hard to please. They are relatively new to the trade and this showed slightly in some areas. I'm sure in time they will iron out any issues. Our main gripes were with the food. We were put on a table... More

Myself and my partner stayed at The Bell this weekend and we cant speak highly enough of our stay. The owners Colm and Tracy are welcoming, warm and entertaining - nothing is too much trouble for them and they really add the personal touch. My partner is from Ireland and Colm had the Pogues playing and the Guinness flowing in... More

Comfortable accommodation. Colm and Tracy are very welcoming and the rest of the staff very helpful and friendly. We stayed three nights in this delightful hotel/pub in the lovely village of Charlbury in the Cotswolds. Would recommend a stay here and hopefully we will have a trip to The Bell again.

Such a shame that this just misses the mark. It is owned by Greene King and leased to the latest couple to have a go at making a success of what could be a charming country inn. Colm and Tracy are welcoming but their lack of experience was evident. We visited it for a midweek pub lunch. There were three... More

What a gorgeous place! I have never been before but heard poor reviews all I can say is the new owners must have really made a difference - friendly welcome, good decor which balanced the historic features of the beautiful building with modern touches. The open fire in the main bar was welcome on such a cold eve! We didn't... More

I stayed here with my partner for the weekend and it was so perfect the rooms blew me away they were so modern and comfortable whilst the building was such a beautiful country getaway. There are two huge open fires plenty of relaxing dining and drinking areas surprising amount of space that's decorated beautifully. The food was fab and varied... More

An very good Saturday Lunch can be had at the Bell. It is served well, is full of flavour, and more than enough. It is excellent value also. The atmosphere is lively, very busy at peak times so booking is essential. The staff are very efficient and friendly. For the warmer months there is a large open garden I have... More
