After reading some of the reviews on here i was not looking forward to staying at this pub, when i arrived the landlord was welcoming, the room was cosy, clean and comfortable, yes the decor is a little out of date, but the bed was comfortable and i had no issues with the room, breakfast was in the room, which... My father-in-law, who has dementia, insists on being taken to this place for lunch. It probably reminds him of happier times when he used to take his late wife there for a "proper" pub lunch. Fortunately for him he's not aware of just how terrible this place now is. Him, my wife and I had to sit for some time... More

Could not have been worse. Arrived with my booking info printed out, only to be told, quote: "We're full." Later on, after acceoting very reluctanly that they had double booked and/or let my room to someone else (Though this was only seven in the eevening) the owner made a few phone calls in an attenpt to find me somewhere else... Can"t believe in this day & age it is so old fashioned, bed linen may have been clean but nothing matched & has been used so many times it is really faded & this made it feel grubby. Needs complete refurbishment. Shag pile carpets look old & worn. Breakfast was a box of cereal in room with orange juice, not... More

The Red Lion is a charming English Pub in a quiet location but close to Oxford and the Chilterns. The accommodation rooms are a little dated but everything is kept scrupulously clean and you are provided with everything you need for a comfortable stay. My single room had a TV, kettle, fridge, plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, shower room,... More

Should have really looked on here before booking!! Absolutely awful.. I'm not a snob but I do have standards! I wasn't even born in the 1970's but I feel that I've now had the 70's experience.... All with a £52 price tag!! Never, never again. Asked to pay in full on arrival before even stepping foot in the accomodation side... More

I stay near Princes Risborough regularly and my normal place was full so decided to stay here. Big mistake. Like its been said the beds are uncomfortable and old, the linen mismatched and not good, sheets and blankets rather than a duvet and breakfast was laughable. I had a childs box of orange juice. My cupboard was in the bathroom....yes... More
