I arrived at the Farthings B&B for a one-night stay as I was working for the weekend in Hamble. The minute I parked, I was greeted at the door by a smiling Jo (and her dog) who welcomed me to the B&B. She knew exactly who I was, greeting me by name - a warming and friendly touch that did... More

We needed a b&b to stay in for an evening as we were attending a party in Hamble. What a good find! A lovely room with a gorgeous bathroom. A warm welcome was given and the cooked breakfast around the large table in the kitchen was simply yummy. Why can't all b&bs be like this?? We would stay again without... More

What a fabulous find! Good job we were not put off by a previous comment. Had such a wonderful time, that I did not want to leave. Farthings is wonderful, very clean, a great bed - slept really well, breakfasts to suit all tastes and wonderful hosts. Ian & Jo are so fascinating to talk with, I could have chatted... More

Jo and Ian run a fantastic home from home. Treat it as such and you won't be disappointed. Be prepared to chat with a lovely couple who are sharing their home with you. Mel (my partner) and I normally stay in hotels but stayed here as it was just 2 mins walk from Hamble village centre (and the pubs /... More

I booked my visit to Farthings a month befor emy visit, and confirmed a few days before. I was extremely pleased with the friendly and efficient service, and the comfort of my room and bathroom. Many thanks indeed, and I will certainly stay with Jo and Ian next time I visit the South coast. Heartily recommended.

My second visit with Ian and Jo. I don't have the words to express how genuinely homely, clean, tidy, warm and thoughtful the whole experience is. Right down to (for instance) tiny rubber stoppers on the doors to make sure that you can't be woken up by slamming doors. Of course, the legendary breakfast is the highlight. I notice one... More

We booked, we had it confirmed and then they double booked us. We arrived at 19.00 on the last Saturday of the boat show, so accommodation in and around Southampton is like Bethlehem at census time. The lady insisted that we hadn't booked and the man was belligerently rude. When it began to dawn on them that it wasn't our... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Farthings; it was one of the most comfortable and well equipped B&B's we have stayed in for some time. Jo and Ian made us feel at home and Archie was an added bonus. It was most enjoyable to chat about our mutual interest in boating. As a matter of interest and despite a... More

If you ever need to stay in Hamble then I recommend you stay at Farthings with Jo and Ian, my girlfriend and I were made to feel extremely welcome. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean and tidy and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept it. The breakfast was great with a never ending supply of tea... More
