Stayed on business last Thursday. The staff are great, the food lovely, the room has all you need and more...free mineral water, biscuits and for a change in hotels...lots of tea coffee and sugar! Oh and by the way £3.75 for a pint of premium lager - very cheap! I would recommend and hope to be back!

I stayed here on a thursday night with a colleague, seperate rooms, both rooms were up to a very good standard. Bed was comfy, shower was warm, had wifi, staff were friendly. Couldn't ask for much more really especially for a 1 overnight stay for business. Hopefully staying again when I'm back in the area :)

We were a group who did a charity moonlight walk in the Victoria Country Park for the RSPCA Charity. We did the walk and popped into the pub. Whilst it was between 10.30 and 11.00 pm, the attitude of the staff was appalling. The barman waited by the table when one of the group suggested that he was waiting for... More

Saturday evening and the offer of two rump steaks and a bottle of wine for £22 (it's a sign) was just too tempting to turn down. The landlord very amicable and friendly and the restaurant was very clean spacious and inviting. Meal was very good but the steak was quite tough. This was my only complaint on what was a... More

My husband and I needed a b and b for a few days in this area. We were pleasantly surprised at the comfortable rooms as we had only had drinks or a meal there before some time ago. We had 2 different rooms on 2 different occasions. The first room was on ground floor and was a decent size especially... More

£7.50 for three small glasses of coke is unnecessary over charging in my opinion. When i mentioned the price to the guy behind the bar he agreed that it was a clear rip off. All in all not very impressed.

We are sorry you felt that your drinks were a rip off, our branded Coca Cola glasses hold 484ml which is a standard size and are at a comparable price to other pubs in the local area, also we do offer a smaller half pint at a lower price along with a host of other soft drinks. More

I attended a school reunion party/disco. An excellent venue for parties, with a welcoming atmosphere, great clean and smart space in the function area. The buffet was extensive and catered for all special diets, with food labelled. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely reccommend for any special occassion. Had a fantastic time. Stayed in a very clean,... More

I attended a function with a buffet at the Prince Consort last weekend. I had the most excellent time. The place has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with smart, clean facilities. I had stated I was a vegan and would've been content with some bread and humous - however, Karen and her catering team did a fantastic job -, I was... More

We held a school reunion there and the food was exceptional and the staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend using this venue for similar parties/events. We had a room set aside for the disco/party which was an excellent space. As it was a very nice evening weather wise, we also made use of outside seating. Count down now on until... More
