After reading earlier reviews a party of 5 of us went mid-week for lunch - 2 ham and 3 beef burgers. It must have been the chefs day off - however the ice cream was good! The views are lovely looking out over the valley.

We were lucky enough to obtain a bargain break for 2 couples through Travelzoo. We had lovely rooms overlooking a superb view and there was plenty of hot water for our roll top bath! We had a lovely 3 course meal in the conservatory and I was impressed that although we had come on an offer, we were not restricted... More

Where to begin! For a start the pub itself is lovely and traditional with great views and is easy to get to from the centre of the village. Mark the landlord really impressed us- there is a man who knows how to provide excellent service! We arrived exhausted and sweaty from our days walking, he welcomed us and gave us... More

This is small hotel in a lovely village called Amberley. We had a deal .so it was even better for value for money. It has a view across the down.the food was excellent .I would especially recommend it to any overseas guests who would love it

We stayed here this week and were amazed by the views and welcome. Deers can be spotted from the balcony. The new owner and waitresses were friendly and attentive. The owner, in particular, wanted to ensure we had a great stay and nothing was too much trouble. We needed an early breakfast as we were working the next day and... More

We stayed last weekend and would seriously recommend this great little place. Dinner was excellent with decent wine so was the breakfast. All fresh local produce (the tomatoes are grown a few yards down the road!) Views from the terrace and the room are fantastic and with the nice spell of weather we are having, if you are booked in... Walking the SDW as a party of four friends, we were looking for two comfortable rooms for the night. The Sportsman is a reasonably well placed overnight stop in Amberley and so we made our booking there. The exterior of the inn has been modernised, albeit some years ago, which makes it appear rather unexceptional. However, as you cross the... More

We just had a really great overnight stay with dinner, bed and breakfast which we booked through a Travel Zoo offer. It was worth every penny and more and was far better than any similar offers we have done. The new manager Mark was extremely welcoming introducing himself and the staff when we went into the bar following our walk... More

We spent an overnight stay with dinner and bed and breakfast through Travel Zoo. Fantastic offer. Our room was very pleasant, overlooking the flood plains. It had a roll-top bath, which wasn't really to our taste as we would have preferred a shower but I recognise for some people this would be a bonus. Room was clean and comfortable, again... More
