We normally only stay in budget places (Rp 130,000 - 250,000) when we can, but I decided to treat my partner on his Birthday and we are so glad we chose Manohara for our Borbudur experience. Yes, you can get the sunrise tour from other places, but most of the sunrise tours leave right after the sunrise, no chance to... More

The price is a little expensive for Indonesian standards but its worth the price when you factor in the ticket price, and the taxi cost from Yogyakarta also having all day access to the temple complex is a nice perk. The hotel restaurant is located amongst a nice garden, and a nice setting to have morning breakfast. There's some bikes... More

Nothing better than Manohara if some one want to see and enjoy the site of Ancient Borobudur temple. Beautiful lush garden spreads towards the beautiful temple site. Lovely morning and afternoon walks in the garden is special. Hotel rooms are basic and ok could be nicer but we don't mind due to its stunning sarroundings. We highly recommend this hotel... More

The location of this hotel is great! There is no place that is more convenient for the sunrise tour and the grounds of the hotel are nicely kept. The hotel itself though is terrible. They have a monopoly in the area and it seems like the owners are taking advantage of the fact that you've got no where else to... More

Agree with all other reviewers that its absolutely the best location - you can just see a corner of the Borobudur temple from the restaurant. Not cheap but absolutely worth paying a bit more. We checked in around noon and got a pass (included with the room rate) to enter the temple for 24 hours - so were able to... More

When you stay at this hotel you totally avoid the annoying crowds, yes Borobodur is very very crowded nowadays, the most popular tourist destination for locals and foreigners in Indonesia. But from Manohara hotel you have a private entrance and exit to the temple, makes a huge difference, and you can go as many times as you want, so its superb... More

We booked the Manohara for one reason only: the location right at the foot of the Borobudur. And we were glad we did. The location is great and it was really nice to have lunch with a view of the Borobudur and after lunch climb this magnificent temple. Next morning we did the sunrise tour, which is indeed only an... I virtually never make such a statement but it's clearly true. The rooms are adequate but not special. Being on the grounds of Borobudor is. You can easily join the sunrise tour without having to travel from elsewhere, with a discount to boot. More so when the tourists have left, the serenity of this place brings out its special charm.... We spent 2 nights at Manohara Resort. The resort was located within a short walking distance to Borobudur. It took us about 10 mins to reach the east entrance to Borobudur from the resort. The resort was pretty spacious, althought we found the room slightly small and in need of an upgrade. We had dinner on both evenings at the... More

Most people have written about the hotel's proximity to Candi Borobudur and I concur that it is highly convenient. The hotel compound was so large that it took me a while to cycle around. I feel that the place ins underutilised/ promoted because there is preoccupation with the Candi. One can do so much in the hotel compound- large greenery,... More
