5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I booked one night's stay at the Manohara hotel (Oct 16-17) primarily to see the sunset and sunrise at the Borobudur temple, as Manohara Hotel's location is unbeatable. However clouds and the long long distance from Yogyakarta to Borobudur took its toll and I missed the sunset. Nevertheless, check-in was quick and I was escorted to a well-appointed room that... The primary reason for staying here was to be able to come and go to Borobudur as many times as I wanted to and to take advantage of the sunrise access. My plans for the sunset were ruined by a long Air Asia delay into Yogyakarta. I was quite satisfied with the room and the restaurant and the surrounding gardens.... More

Closest to Borobudur. Clean and comfy room. Food served at the cafe was not good and pricey. Toilet amenities, electric kettle, hairdryer and slipper available in the room. Hot shower and air con worked well. Friendly staff. Overall, pretty good for one night.

If you are going to Borobudur (and why else would you be here), this is the place to stay. Considering that by staying here you get free admission to the temple for up to two people, you can automatically cut $40 off the price the hotel is charging you. You also get decent discounts if you want to attend the... More

This is the best place to stay in Borobudur as it is right in the grounds of the temple. It is an easy 5 minute walk to get there and as a resident you have free access. Go up at sunset and again at sunrise as the experience is different. The hotel has a very good video show explaining all... More

Prior to visiting Hotel Manohara, my expectations were really low - as my main intention was to stay as close to Borobudur itself to avoid having to wake too early for the sunrise tour (more on that later!). Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is laid out like a Balinese villa, featuring nicely manicured gardens, with Borodudur majestically... More

I live in Java and when friends from afar come to visit, we always visit Borobudur and we ALWAYS stay at Manohara. Just imagine, you wake up in the morning, have a cup of tea in your room and then stroll across the hotel's beautiful grounds to the temple. It means you can get there nice and early, before the... Stayed one night as we were recommended to see the sunset n sunrise. Borobudur is small in size and one can finish wondering around in 2-3 hours. Hotel is clean n basic. Nothing fancy. Hotel is within the grounds of Borobudur. Gardens surrounding the hotel n Borobudur is clean n spacious. Food in hotel is just average but since we... More

by walking 5-10 minutes, you can reach borobudur temple. Very close and with nice scenery. The room is fine and big. Morning breakfast is very simple but expected. Quiet and peaceful, everybody seems friendly

We stayed there only for 1 night in room n.12C at the edge of the hotel area, overlooking the countryside. When we tried to book on our own, we couldn’t find any availability, but the local agency that we contacted to rent a car with driver finally got a twin-room for us. The room was large, clean and comfortable, nothing... More
