If you are here to visit Borobudur, there's no doubt that you should go with Manohara. It's literally with in the national park of this UNESCO culture heritage. The room is reasonably clean and comfortable (though there's no wifi in the room) and the restaurant is ok. The really benefit is you can visit Borobudur multile times during your stay... More

When I saw the other reviews on TripAdvisor, I had a feeling we were in for a bit of an adventure. As USA TODAY's First Road Warrior the Year, I have traveled a lot. In fact, I travel the world to work for my clients. I have been in some pretty challenging accommodations, in Kuala Lumpur (MALAYSIA) and Accra (GHANA).... More

Wow this hotel in the temple grounds itself. Not sure how the government got approval for this but its VERY CLOSE to the temple and would definitely recommend staying here if going for the sunrise tour. Food is quite good but rooms are quite small but clean.

The hotel staff were helpful and the rooms were basic but clean, with lovely patios. The best part of this hotel is its location on the grounds of Borobudur. I recommend the sunrise tour. It was amazing. And, when staying here you can roll out of bed at 4:15 for the 4:30 departure rather than waking earlier for a bus... More

There couldn't be a better location for Borobudur. I would strongly recommend making it for the sunrise and staying at manohara the night before. The hotel has lovely lawns the rooms are nice the staff is helpful and food was ok. The only slight issue I thought were the Mosquitos in the room when we arrived however once we aired... More

If you are flying in from the South East Asian countries, you will probably reach the hotel around 4pm. Night comes early to Borobudur so it's a little too dark to wander around. There is nothing much to do around the area at night. The hotel is 2 hours away from the airport and when we got there, we were... More

This hotel is right next to Borobudur, if it weren't for the vegetation we would see Borobudur from our room. Book the sunrise tour and you get to go inside before everyone else to watch the sunrise, it is worth the money. The sunrise is magical and you can walk around before it gets too hot and before it opens... More

The location of this hotel is literally next to Borobudur. After a week of staying in non-touristy hotels, it felt great to be in a western style hotel. Breakfast was delicious and rooms were quite big with a private patio and a large bathroom. And as you're just next to the famous Borobudur, try to go early as it can... More

All the reviews say it and we're saying it too - this is the best, most value-for-money place to be when visiting Borobudur, the temple. You're away from the mayhem that can be the rest Borobudur village (the traffic, the incessant vendors hawking tourist tat), but still in the middle of it if you choose to be. The Manohara is...
