I really didn't expect much when I booked this hotel. But it turned out to be sweet. The hotel is located in the middle of a village, where you cannot hear anything noisy. Very clean, very friendly staff, and the entire traditional atmosphere, the garden, and the room were stunning. And it's not far from the Borobudur temple. I would... More

Nice garden and quiet. A little far if you walk to the temple and town center but they have bicycles to rent or they can call a tuktuk. it's surrounded by rice fields so it's very quiet and relaxing. You can also explore the countryside nearby.

We chose to stay here with the kids to be near to the temple and to better absorb the energy of Borobudur. However the least expensive rooms were too small and the day manager wasn't very friendly. He offered no discount despite our complaints of the minuscule size of the rooms as he very well knew that there were no... More

This place is quite a gem if you don't quite mind the occasional insects coming to visit you. We had encounters with frogs, huge spider (about 8-10 cm with it's legs spread out!), huge grasshopper at almost 3 inches long and the usual mosquitoes, small moths and butterflies and ants of all sizes with some big ones having wings too.... The grounds and common areas (outside living room and restaurant) were nice. Most of the staff were friendly, some a little less so. We'd booked one of the more spacious rooms, which was situated at the front of the back walkway. Unfortunately that whole back walkway was a disaster zone, with all the rest of the rooms there seemingly under... More

I stayed 4 nights and everything was great until the 3rd nights when hundreds of ants shared the room with me. I called housekeeping on the 4th nights after I found hundreds of ants crawling on my bed. The housekeeping person sprayed the room, but still more ants showed up. He told me to just turn off the lights but... More

We had the Royal Suite which was huge! Very reasonably priced for a suite. The location is charming albeit a bit distant from the village of Borobudur, but this is easily overcome by renting bikes for the day! A further bonus is the free afternoon tea at 4 pm with tea, coffee and snacks laid on. The restaurant is pricey... More

We went to Borobudur in January 2014 and booked Rumah Boedi for a night stay in the Borobudur area. We did not book the airport transfer from Rumah Boedi and we were glad we didn't, as there are fixed price taxis to take you to Borobudur hassle-free at much lower price than flagging roadside taxi or booking from the hotel.... Hotel was located at the edge of the town and around 1.5km from Borobudur. The rooms are clean and surrounded by gardens. Complimentary tea with snacks is served daily at the pavilion which is also a good chill out place. It would have been better if there is a pool in the hotel to chill out in.

We are traveling for a long time around the world, we have stayed in accommodation of all types and categories, and Rumah Boedi is without doubt one of our favorites. The staff are lovely, the best we have encountered in our travels. If we had more time we would have been many more days, we've felt at home! If we... More
