We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel for its old-style charm and comfort. Our room was huge, yet cozy. The breakfast was okay. We had a modestly priced oil massage in the gazebo by the pool and liked the al fresco sensation of that. This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a superb location within easy walking distance from Borobudur and with... More

Imagine you are walking (with tropical heat outside) on cool tiled floors, with marble and chandeliers, teak ceilings and friendly service. There's a lovely swimming pool. Bowls of frangipani and ylangylang flowers are in the arcades. Best of all you are in close walking proximity to one of the famous World Heritage Sites, the eighth century vast Buddhist stupa of... We stayed locally in Borobudur but we visited for lunch. It is very elegant, grand but dated. The staff spoke a very good english and was very professional. We had Fried Shrimps, Special Fried Noodles with Papaya Juices for 405.000 Rupiah for two of us. Free Wi-Fi. Beautiful food, polite stuff and very clean toilet, we would highly recommend it!

A really relaxing place not far from the temple gates. This is an old style hotel with high ceilings and old furniture. A nice garden for relax and bikes to hire for cycling around. Everything reminds to the old colonial time. Good breakfast and helpful concierge. The only problem is the early singing of the muezin in the nearby mosque.... More

Tried to get into Manohara Hotel, inside Borobudur, but it was full. This was my second choice. It was less than a minute's walk from Borobudur so essentially, the same as being inside except no discount for the overpriced sunrise tour, at $31 US. Sky was all clouded over at 6am so even though we paid for expensive ticket, we... More

This was a last minute trip, and we had to scramble to find hotels. We picked up the Royal suite in the Saraswati hotel via a mystery deal on Agoda, and had the room at a seriously discounted price. The total surface of the rooms are massive: bigger than my 2 bedroom condo in Singapore! The rooms are well furnished... More

I agree with the other reviewers who comment about the faded charm of this hotel. It's an ok place to stay if you want to be within walking distance of Borobudur, otherwise, there are probably better places to stay. We had room 204 on the second floor (no elevator- one of the staff carried our suitcase when checking in) nearest... More

The Italian style hotel is situated near to Borabudur therefore charges a higher price but in our opinion unless you want to go there for the sunrise you would be better off by staying in Yogyakarta and taking a taxi. The lobby/reception/restaurant looks grand but the clean rooms are very dimly lit by only 3 lamps. The shower room had... More

The nearest hotel outside Borobudur park if you are looking at walking distance to Borobudur monument. Higher price compared to the nearest available accommodation, free wifi, clean room, hotel restsurant offers wide varieties of F&B choices, transport is readily available if you want to visit places or transfer to city or airport. The hotel is rather dim, but that's the... More

Looks great from the photos and the courtyard of the hotel is impressive - probably the best aspect of the hotel. The lobby area is strange - ever wanted to visit one of Sadaam Hussein's palaces? No air con in the lobby and lots of mosquitos with frumpy upholstery. Staff is nice but not particularly welcoming. Escort to the room... More
