I agree with the other reviewers who comment about the faded charm of this hotel. It's an ok place to stay if you want to be within walking distance of Borobudur, otherwise, there are probably better places to stay. We had room 204 on the second floor (no elevator- one of the staff carried our suitcase when checking in) nearest... More

The Italian style hotel is situated near to Borabudur therefore charges a higher price but in our opinion unless you want to go there for the sunrise you would be better off by staying in Yogyakarta and taking a taxi. The lobby/reception/restaurant looks grand but the clean rooms are very dimly lit by only 3 lamps. The shower room had... More

The nearest hotel outside Borobudur park if you are looking at walking distance to Borobudur monument. Higher price compared to the nearest available accommodation, free wifi, clean room, hotel restsurant offers wide varieties of F&B choices, transport is readily available if you want to visit places or transfer to city or airport. The hotel is rather dim, but that's the... More

Looks great from the photos and the courtyard of the hotel is impressive - probably the best aspect of the hotel. The lobby area is strange - ever wanted to visit one of Sadaam Hussein's palaces? No air con in the lobby and lots of mosquitos with frumpy upholstery. Staff is nice but not particularly welcoming. Escort to the room... More

The best things are the stunning lobby and pool 24 hours. With high price I paid, don't expect for great breakfast because they just serve very limited breakfast buffet. The staffs are friendly and helpful and they gave me nice souvenir

Stayed 2 nights. Room was ok thanks to good aircon and comfortable bed but otherwise a bit shabby and lacking maintenance. Shower was variable in temperature and kept falling off the wall and bedding had stains. After complaining the bedding was changed and a guy looked at the shower with little effect. Food very good and they accommodated early starts... More

From the moment we pulled up and we were greeted at the door i was very impressed. The lobby is absolutely stunning. The large ceilings and chandelier. It's like a scene from the titanic. The staff were very friendly and we ate at the hotel several times because there are not a lot of restaurants around borobudur and we were... More

This is a lovely boutique hotel within the vicinity of the World Heritage site of Borobudur. The best thing is: It's within walking distance to the gate of Borobudur! and you can wake up early in the morning to catch the sunrise of Borobudur! The hotel is located in a small village, thus, expect nothing much but lovely and peaceful... More

I had a Twin Room for 2 nights with a friend and while this hotel does look tired - it has loads of charm and character! The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful and pleasant and the rooms were clean. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant each day which was delicious and the food was of high quality... I stayed two nights at Saraswati and was dreading it based on the reviews here. In fact I was pleasantly surprised by how much better it was in reality. Firstly, it's beautiful, especially the inner courtyard which reminded me of riads in Morocco. Admittedly it is a bit worn around the edges but I thought this added to the charm.... More
