A resort of integration of 19th and 21st centuries; Eco friently and a tanjore village type stay with all the modern facilities; While roaming around the exteriors, there is a feeling created as if we are in the midst of a adorable village; but when we enter the cottages, we are at home with modern facilities like Ac, fan, bed,etc.... This place is meant for foreigners and natives who would like to taste the good old days of a typical Indian living - warm, secluded, away from the killer routines of modern day life. Its a mini forest and you will share your living spaces with deers, geese and turkeys which are accustomed to close contacts with humans. Urban kids... More

This is a resort surrounded by trees, friendly animals like deer, peacocks, ducks, geese and turkey which gives the feeling of living in the woods. Staff is very friendly and service your request with a smile and promptly. We stayed there as part of a big group for a spiritual retreat. There was stunning dance performance by in-house architect. The palace... More

This is a stunning location, hotel as village, well perhaps not village but certainly commune crossed with holiday resort. Separate chalets for some, central restaurant, swimming pool, museum all as a community in the verdant countryside. However, my experience - some of which I accept is subjective - tarnished this idyllic scene. The suite cannot be faulted, the bed comfortable,... More

Was not expecting much when I booked the hotel. But I am happy to say this has been the most refreshing experience in a while. The property is kept clean and the greenery is bound to steal your heart. An amazing place for kids to see ducks, peacocks, deers moving freely. Restaurant is vegetarian but I enjoyed every meal there... More

The Indeco Swamimalai is truly a brave choice to make. If you are/were a 60’s hippy type, then you would love it, but with geese, ducks, guinea fowl, and turkeys having free roam of the grounds, you need to look where you put your feet; altogether too Bohemian for our taste. The internet did not “reach”, as the hotel put... More

If you are looking for a 2-3 day break away from the city, this is a wonderful property to go to. About 5 hours drive from Chennai. Till Tindivanam you can take the expressway and the state highway thereafter. The state highway has a few rough patches but overall a decent route. The property is a refurbished village where they... It's a heritage hotel and staying here for a second time. The first time I came, it used to be good but now I think it need good maintenance and some refurbishments. Beds are ok but linen quality need to be improved. Food is good :) but the front desk & F&B staff should improve their service. Front desk staff... More

We had a unique and rustic experience. Being children of the 70s we got really nostalgic about the rotary phone, the ceramic switches, the tin bucket in the bathroom, the slate and chalk instead of pen and paper. It is those small touches that make all the difference. Our 9 year old had a grand time playing with the geese... More
