This lodge is a wonderful choice for anyone visiting the unmissable NOGORONGORO crater in Tanzania. It is reached after many hours of driving along bumpy and dusty roads but the first impressions are of the vibrant bouganvilla bushes and the setting sun hitting the white building. We were a large group of 12 and were given our own home to... More

This was the only non tented camp that we stayed at. The rooms were huge, like a small condo. The shower was a two person walk-in. It seemed out of place as it was very modern feeling, especially coming from a tented camp the night before. The grounds are meticulously kept with green grass and flowers everywhere. You get a... The location is beautiful, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is good and the rooms large and well-equipped. Wi-fi was temperamental, but to be expected in the heart of Africa. The pool was cold, but, again, affords a beautiful view whilst relaxing with a drink after a day's safari. We ate outside, which was a little chilly, but... More

The only disappointment is that we arrived late and couldn't enjoy the beautiful pool and spectacular view as we only stayed one night and left early the next day. Staff met us on arrival with cold towels and drinks. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The dining was lovely with excellent food and service. I really can't fault... More

We stayed in one of the bungalows (no. 5 or 7) overlooking the valley, and what a view from all the windows! It's actually almost like a two-storey villa, with a huge bathroom. Very well decorated and clean. The bed is ooh so confortable. Very quiet and the gardens around the lodge are so well-tended. Their pool area is very... More

We are staying here now and having read previous reviews I wanted to take the time to give a positive score because the hotel and staff certainly deserve it. The grounds are lovely (hope to post photos at a later date when they can be uploaded). The pool is beautiful, the views are lovely and the service is friendly and... More

As the six of us drove up the long driveway to the lodge after a wonderful full day spent in the crater, we were excited to be staying in a place other than a tent camp; up to this point, we had been in 4 different camps in both Kenya and Tanzania. We were greeted warmly by the manager, Alan,... More

The beauty if Bashay is hard to describe. The gardens are incredibly well kept. You will want to take pictures by the garden as you stroll through the place of living in the place of the rich and famous. The rooms (almost a house) is beautifully laid out and spacious. The room furnishings are well appointed. The common room for... More

This new lodge serves mainly french clients (we were the only non-french during our 1 night stay) It's really conveniently located after Karatu village, short ride from Ngorongoro park entrance. The welcome was really nice, with some glasses of juice and ice tea, wet towel and room key waiting for us. The little disappointment came right after, learning that we... More

Very nice hotel with great views The pool is really nice - although my husband got bitten by Mosquitos really badly whilst we were by the pool so be careful if you are prone to bites. View from the pool area is great also. If you follow the signs to Kilimanjaro safari club you will get to Bashay Lodge. The... More
