I am sharing my experience trying to book a room with the Aurum lodge. I was trying to stay for a Sunday night in the “Shoulder season” as their website describes it. I was told that I would have to stay 2 nights because it was the “Peak Season”. I only wanted to stay 1 night and offered to get... More

Dear Steve, We are sorry to hear that we cannot offer the amenities / services that meet your requirements and travel plans this summer. Aurum Lodge is a destination for visitors wishing to enjoy this magnificent area away from the hustle and bustle of the often crowded National Parks. We are not a luxury hotel providing 24 hour service plus... More

This is the first time our family has stayed at Aurum Lodge (2 adults, 2 kids - ages 7 & 9). Beautiful location and comfortable lodge. The owners are very friendly and took great care of us. Lots to explore in the area - beautiful hikes, waterfalls, etc. We would highly recommend the trip. Really appreciated all the efforts the... More

I spent 6 days at the beggining of October this year, in this facinating place. I am a Photographer traveling alone. this area in one of the most beautiful in canada and it is not as crowded as the other national parks. because it is more remote. My favorite time to go is during the fall. there are fewer people... More

I have stayed at Aurum Lodge twice. I stayed in the separate cottage both times and enjoyed the quiet accommodation. The place is super clean and comfortable. The surrounding country side deserves exploring and should be visited numerous times to discover all its beauty. I recommend visiting the Nordegg Mine in the nearby town while staying at the Aurum Lodge.

The Aurum Lodge was the base of operations for a photo tour (6 days, 5 nights) during the first week of October that I joined to cap my first visit to the Canadian Rockies. I had split the previous week between Lake Louise Village and Jasper, so this was my introduction to David Thompson Country. For a venue as far... More

We stayed 3 nights in the lodge at the start of a trip that also included stays in Jasper and Canmore. We were traveling with another couple and had the adjoining standard rooms with a shared sun room. The accommodations were perfect. Comfortable bedding, very clean, and a spectacular mountain view out the windows. The eco-friendly design and construction seemed... More

A beautiful spot almost in the middle of nowhere. The lake near the house is stunning during sunrise and set. The owners are very friendly and will help you with everything you need. In the area are really beautiful hikes with bighorn sheep and lots of squirrels.

Because of its remote location, this lodge is completely off the grid but the solar panels ensured that we had all the comforts that we wanted. The lodge is filled with interesting art from around the world. The breakfasts (included) and dinners (extra) were very good and a fun way to meet fellow travelers as well as the hosts. Views... Spent 3 nights in the self catering duplex cabin with friends. The two units are side by side in one log building with their own front "porch" area. One cabin has king bed, the other has a queen. You need to take all your own food as the lodge does not have a license to cook for anyone other than... More

I am at a loss for why anyone would whine about Aurum. One only has to read previous reviews to understand this is not a normal bed and breakfast or lodge. The owners roots are from the German speaking part of Switzerland so expect that influence. It has that European feel to it and no one should come here knowing... More
