I have fly fished all the great rivers of Colorado and been to many lodges and the fly fishing on the Laramie at Rawah Ranch is by far the best. I bought a second house in Colorado to be next to fly fishing and I still go to the Rawah once a year for the fishing. You are truly away... More

What more could you ask for? To discover that I could have a superb fly fishing weekend while my wife enjoyed yoga and the opportunity to paint changing aspen, ranch life, horses, donkeys and more was an enticing offer I could not resist. Pat Timmins and his wife Melanie along with their fine staff do a terrific job hosting, entertaining... More

At first I was wondering if I had made a wrong turn. I kept driving down this dirt road and didn’t see anything but moose and mule deer. Had I missed the turn? How much farther do I have to go? Was I really sitting in Atlanta traffic the day before and now I’m dodging wildlife as big as my... More

My initial impression was one of mixed feelings. Not really what I had been expecting. But then I went inside the lodge and was amazed at the warmth and decor of the place. This was what I had been expecting. My cabin was well appointed and very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgable in each of their... More

My wife surprised me for my 40th Birthday with a Fly Fishing trip to Rawah Ranch. I was able to get my dad to go along so we could have some father/son bonding time - Neither of us had been fly fishing before and we wanted something memorable. Rawah is SO BEAUTIFUL- Words can't describe! I've never had a place... More

From the moment Pat and Melanie, Rawah Ranch's Managers, met us at the gate by the road, as we arrived late one night, we knew that we were going to be taken care of very well. The best thing about arriving late in the night is the amazing view of mountains that you wake up to. Being from Toronto, it's... More

It's hard to find words that sum up our experience at Rawah this past Labour Day weekend. Myself and three friends were all first timers, but from the moment with arrived at the ranch Pat and Melanie made us feel like we were family. Their amazing staff work to offer an experience that is equal parts personal and professional. The... More

Unbelievable remote ranch location with 2 miles of private river and too many big fish to count. You can't do better for a Fly Fishing destination. The only thing better than the fishing was the food - Chef Bobby and his team are unreal. Food was always outstanding and creative. Plenty of friendly dogs and donkeys on the property. A... More

Rawah Ranch is a most unusual site – partly dude ranch, partly fly fishing destination. It’s location is remote, up 17 miles of gravel road, yet within an hour of Fort Collins, Colorado. The setting is wild and quite beautiful, despite the infestation of pine bark beetle in most of the surrounding trees. Rawah offers a highly personalized experience, with... More

Over 27 years my husband and I have taken several vacations devoted to fly-fishing, almost all of them came up short in one way or another, e.g. fishing good, but accommodation bad; river heavily fished; too many small fish; or wading/access difficult, but scenery beautiful; acceptable accommodation, but food uninteresting, etc. Rawah Ranch had the perfect blend of qualities that...
