I stayed here in July 2014 on a school expedition of 32 staff and pupils. This place is amazing. The journey there on the open top canoe is an experience in itself. We were very lucky both ways as the weather was kind. If it had rained on us like it rained during the night when we were there it... More

We have just returned from a brilliant four night/five day stay at Shiripuno. As mentioned by some of the other reviewers the lodge is genuinely remote, located in virgin forest far from any other settlements. The isolation means that there is the opportunity to see a really good spread of wildlife, in particular birds, in their natural habitat. If wildlife... More

We (couple, 41 & 50) stayed at Shiripuna Lodge for four days/three nights in May 2014. We were two of just five guests. The lodge is very remote (3 1/2 hours down river from the nearest road). There is no electricity, though a solar battery was available to recharge electronics when the sun is shining. The cabins are rough -... More

This is a lodge for people with a serious interest in the tropical amazon flora and fauna. It is located in virgin forest, remote and thus hard to reach, but oh so worth it! From Coca it takes 6 hours by car and motorized canoe. The canoe is uncovered, and rain is a possibility! The rooms are open air, rustic,... More

Thank you so much to Gabo and Rufo ,Wia, who were our excellent and fun guides for five days. We felt totally looked after at Shiripuno, even though it is very basic we had everything we needed and the food was excellent. Thank you Carlos. This is a very remote Lodge. We were able to experience long jungle hikes in different... More

We spent 5 days at the lodge and were sad to leave. Accommodations were rustic --no electricity, wash water from the river, but completely adequate. The trip to the lodge is long, 2 hours by car and then 4 hrs by boat, and you could be caught in a downpour as we were, so be prepared. The staff and Jose... More

It's been a while since we were there, but our stay is still fresh in my memory. We stayed here for one month, and did some volunteering at the lodge. Shiripuno deserves nothing less than an excellent rating. Hours away from the nearest village, no roads, nothing... just rainforest all around. For people that are looking for a true Amazon... More

If you are looking for a real jungle experince this is it. No fancy pancy, no elctricity, no WiFi. 4 h canoe in to the Houarani reserve. One local guide (houarani) and one naturalist guide will take you for amazing walks in the forest to see the strangest creaturs and plants. They will also teach you about the houarani culture.... Get ready for the most memorable jungle experience of your life. If you are jungle shy, this may not be for you. This is the real deal experience, nothing commercial or fake to be found. The journey to the lodge is as interesting as the lodge location itself. You must travel by boat to get deep into the jungle. The... More

Probably one of the very few places in the world where the wildlife is still untouched. There're no roads, no people, no mobile network. The rain forest is amazing, just point randomly and you can talk endlessly about what you point at. Soo many life forms, so many species. It's difficult to see mammals, they have wide territory and avoid... More
