Our stay at Yacuma was one of the highlights of our month in Ecuador. The location is beautiful set, only reachable by canoa. The cabin was clean, the garden beautiful, the staff very friendly (gracias Leonardo y Fausto), and the food delicious. We stayed for 4 days and did several daytours, including the walk to the bat cave. This was... More

My husband and I, along with some friends, enjoyed 5 days/4 nights of being totally out of our normal environments. The staff at Yacuma took very good care of us on all levels. The food was excellent and plentiful. While our little bungalow did not have a/c or fan, we were able to sleep well each night on comfortable beds... More

This place apparently is in a dead zone for animals. Biggest attraction was a dragonfly. Rooms small, falling apart, mildew ridden, holes in all the screens, most of the handrails are dry rotted. And that's the best part of the overpriced place. No fans, not even an electric plug in your room. The only good thing was the food. The... More

Arriving at the lodge with motor boats gave from first moment impression that all safety measures were taken into account. We has life jackets on although the boat was very stable. At the lodge were greeted by the manager. Activities including walking in the rainforest and visiting the guides family gave us an impression tha guests were welcome. The local... More

I visited Yacuma Lodge in February 2014 as part of a tour with a group of five travellers. We were met on time by the motor canoe that took us to the lodge and greeted by the staff and welcomed to the lodge with a traditional drink. The staff were professional and accommodating and the adminstrator a very gracious host.... More

Before to get there you have to drive (buses too) for 3 hrs on a rough road then go loaded on a canoe and after a trip(20 min) on the Napo river ..( during the trip you see a fantastic landscape, and it was at sundown!) . you arrive...it looks like an aborigen village ( but you have every kind of... What a wonderful way to experience the Ecuadorian Amazon. We started with a long minibus drive on roads which got steadily rougher until, just as we thought they couldn't get worse, we turned off onto an even rougher road and wound our way to a small village. Here we loaded onto a canoe on the Napo River (a tributary of... More

Everything is a surprise, you don't expect anything from what you are going to experience, and yet, you love it all. You start with a trip on the Napa river for about 20 minutes, being overwhelmed by the beautiful landscape of manglers and birds. You arrive and they are expecting you, to welcome you with a drink and smiles, plenty... More

We had a great stay at the Yacuma lodge. The long trip there is certainly worth it because you get the real authentic Amazon experience. We had a great guide, Mario. We spent 3 nights an 4 days at the lodge and did a variety of activities. The highlights for us were the following: 1. 4+ hour hike in the... More

We had two nights at the lodge. The food was great. We had a boat ride to the AmaZOOnia animal refuge which was very enlighting in showing how the local indigenous people live and use the Amazon river tributories. The guided walk with Milton was also fantastic - it was done in gumboots and the path is authentic so don't... More
