My Gero onsen pass first spa, coz nearest to station. Their service are good, onsen pool are big, city view (not open air). Pool are ceramic type, nothing special. Toilet have city view, and can be view from city, the only thing I feel special.

Stay with the first stop in Sept of my 6 days trip in Nagoya. Suimeikan is a traditional Onsen Ryokan/ Hotel with varies facilities such as Karokay, children play shop and swimming pool. Suimeikan is a huge hotel facility of 3 interconnected buildings located conveniently next to Gero station. The hotel runs a shuttle bus (not really necessary since it's 200 meters from the station) that is timed to pick up/return passengers arriving/departing using the Hida Limited Express trains. Check-in service was fast, efficient and similar to any other Japanese hospitality one has... More

This is a lovely location. The town is better than the photos suggest. We arrived and luckily my Japanese wife made quick order of checking in. This place is HUGE. We stayed in the traditional Japanese room with Tatami floors. If you have elderly parents as I do, they may have difficulty getting down and up. The Futon is lovely,... More

The hotel served basically everything I could think of about a hotel. There was a morning market, a game machine area, several sofa areas, 3 hot springs at different floors, a beautiful back garden with mini waterfall and etc. Having said that, there was one thing that I would suggest the hotel reconsider: it took 1,000 JPY entrance fee to... I bought the multiple onsen pass for ¥1300 which allowed me access to the onsen at Sumeikan. I didn't know that onsens were only available during certain hours so this one worked for me (12:00-14:00). You are given 2 options. The ground level where you have access to both indoor and outdoor pools, and the 9th floor panoramic option which... More

Picked this hotel for a 1 night stay as it is close to the train station and onsen street. Arrived early and once I walked out of the train station there is already a man holding a big card showing the hotel name and showed us the way to the shuttle. It was only an one minute drive to the... More

Right from the start upon checking in we were ushered to our very very large tatami room by our most gracious and charming filipina hostess who also made us tea. I'm extremely apologetic that I cannot remember her name but she has worked at the hotel for more than 10 years and she is very polite. Her name has a... More
