A small but perfectly formed Pub/Restaurant with rooms. We stayed here by chance as we needed to be in the area at short notice and all our preferred Hotels were full. It turns out this was a real piece of luck as we have now discovered what will in future be our first choice !!! From the moment we arrived... More

Should your trip be for personal reasons, that is to say should you be flexible with your hours to suit the staff, this may be your ideal choice! The food is excellent, far above what you might expect and not expensive either. The rooms seem to range from bijou to micro scale, but are characterful and well kept. Beds seem... More

firstly lovely place and excellent food, really good food. Felt like I was put under pressure regarding breakfast, it's a small B & B, but asked at 9pm if I wanted breakfast so that we didn't get the chef up without cause! The cleaner is however in early from 7.30 as we were corrected whilst she listened to our conversation...... More

Rooms are very small and you have to walk through the bar and the entrance to the restaurant to get to the rooms! Our room the shower drains needed plunging, other rooms had no light bulbs in the side lights and had a broken toilet. We were shown our room which hadn't been cleaned from the last visitors. I asked... More

Booked in for a one night B & B . Staff lovely & very friendly & helpful but a bit over stretched.Fortunately we were booked out elsewhere in the evening. Bedroom was clean & neat but was very small with a "queen sized" single - masquerading as a double bed, had to shuffle round the room to get round the... More

A very enjoyable evening in a pleasant atmosphere. Staff were very charming and helpful, the menu was fine, however, not extensive. The house wine, however, was very good value and tasted fine! We shall definitely be returning in the not too distant future. Thank you The Ivy House.

We went last night and were extremely disappointed with both food and service. My husbands Starter consisted of a over cooked egg, mains consisted of two over cooked steaks and desserts were served minus the cutlery. The red wine was served and the lid screwed back on...really? Timings between food was far to long. We felt forgotten about. Poor value... More

Walked in at around 2.30 after popping up to the white lion for a meal and being told they was fully booked because it was mothers day, to find a nearly empty pub and to be told they could just fit us in. We sat outside with our son and had a very tasty meal potato's were cold but veg... More
