A lot of lodges are in similar areas. This lodge has human settlement close by, as do many of the other lodges. However, you re still in a good location to see and feel nature. The staff was helpful, guides were good, and I enjoyed my stay. In reality, I didn't see so much extraordinary wildlife, but you can easily... More

This is an incredible, picturesque, relaxing yet action packed Amazon trip. The transfer takes a couple of hours from Manaus - pick up was from the hotel, then it is a boat ride on to another little bus then another boat to the Juma lodge - you see the meeting of the rivers and there is so much to take... I actually came here a few years back with my family. We were all nervous of going to the Amazon rainforest but we had no reason to be. There are no mosquitoes where Juma lodge is so you could walk around in shorts and t shirts without getting bitten making the heat very bearable. I highly recommend going on the... More

From start to finish this was a trip of a lifetime I am not usually great with the outdoors but this was something else. From he trip to the lodge where we see the meeting of the two rivers to arriving at a beautiful lodge it was first class service. Enjoyed all the activities but be prepared if you are... More

Although the trip from Manaus to the lodge took 3 and half hours, it was very well arranged. After a pick-up from the hotel and boat ride (with a stop where the two rivers meet each other, Rio Negro and Rio Salimoë (which is more or less the Amazon river)) a bus trip and another boat trip, we arrived at... My wife and I did the 6 day/5 night package at Juma so we had a more longitudinal perspective on the place. We also did the Juma arranged tour of Manaus and the pink dolphin trip. Our experiences may differ somewhat from what others did so keep in mind our experience may not entirely with that of others. I have... More

Dear Retinol13 Thank you for you complete review about us. Enrique is really a very good guide, he knows a lot about the jungle! The Tambaqui is the most tastefull amazonian fish, most of our guests prefer it among the others. We are working on this overnight in the jungle, in order to make it more enjoyable with some activities... More

Our first impression of the lodge was excellent lovely rooms on stilts good dining room food fine for vegetarians although labelling the dishes would be extremely helpful and there is a good bar. Trips out were good although surprisingly little wild life around. On a bird watching trip only saw 2 species. Piranha fishing fun and a treck through the... More

Dear Marilyn Thank you for your review. Our regular car was under maintanance during your stay, so we had to hire another car to do the transfers. I apologize that this car was not in its best shape, and be sure that we will take more care when there is a need to hire an extra car again. Best Regards,... More

Firstly, the Lodge itself is top-notch and one of the best places I've ever stayed. Unfortunately, the people in the booking office and the policies really let this place down. The Good Stuff: Amazing jungle lodge with loads of organized activities. Even though the trip out to the lodge takes a few hours, it's an amazing route through the "Meeting... More

Dear Emily, Thank you for your good review about us! I am sorry about your problems with our booking department. It doesn't excuse us, but during the World Cup period we had a lot of bookings in the same time and it generated some misunderstoods. This past experience will be usefull for us during the Olympic Games in 2016, when... More

Our 6 day visit to Juma Lodge was an experience we shall never forget. Its remoteness was its strength. You the visitor fitted in with nature, not the other way around where activities are staged to impress the tourist. This means you might be lucky enough to see tapirs swimming across the river as we did, but this was unusual.... More

This is a very nice lodge with lots of organized activities and nice staff and lovely food. The stay is nothing for persons who are afraid of small animals such as frogs and bugs ( no malaria mosquito though) . Standard is always relative but given the jungle surroundings it is surely considered luxury (although not hot water in the... More
