Due to a mix up in our reservation, we began our evening in "the back room" - basically a pub for the locals which included a circle of knitters! Moving into the dining room, my husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal - mushroom soup, gnochi, fish and chips and a scrumtious dessert. We enjoyed conversation with our host, who... More

We've just got back from our stay at The Anderson and we loved every minute of it. Everyone was incredibly friendly, nothing was too much trouble, our room was very comfortable and the food was fabulous. The bar staff were also great and very knowledgeable; the selection of beers and whiskys is second to none. The hotel is in a... More

Had a lovely meal at The Anderson with excellent food and more than acceptable house wine! On the night it was a slight disappointment the length of time taken to take our order but the waiter did explain when we arrived that the kitchen was very busy. Quality and cooking of food very much 5/5!

Just back from a golfing break with 13 friends. The service at this hotel was brilliant. Jim and Anne made sure we were well fed and looked after and Richard in the bar did a sterling job with the draft and bottled beers selections. Definitely highly recommended.

Visited on a Monday afternoon and was treated to a beer Extravaganza. The bar staff were very knowledgable and friendly which gave both my wife and I a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. We them decided to stay for dinner and were not disappointed! We sat in the amazing Whiskey Bar and were treated very well by the waiting staff. Food was... More

I came to the Anderson with family for the pub quiz. The design is fabulous and I envy the beer mat collection. Fantastic atmosphere, great drink choice and wonderful quiz. Can't wait to go back and spend another enjoyable evening at this excellent place.

I stayed here back in March for work purposes and i loved the place. The evening meals were great value and super quality. The steak was fantastic. The selection of beers is something unrivaled in my eyes and i stay in a LOT of hotels. The room was fine for the price and what i needed but this isn't what... More

Thanks for your visit and kind words. We're proud to have pleased you enough to warrant a return visit! Your perceptive comments about the rooms are much appreciated -- we operate as a restaurant with rooms, not a full-service hotel, and hope that our restaurant and bars make up for the difference. Visited The Anderson tonight and honestly have never had such service years. When we arrived there was only one other table occupied but our starters took 40 minutes to arrive, without even an apology from the staff. When it did arrive the fish soup was bland and tasteless, the beetroot tart, not as good as in the past. 30 minutes after... This is the fourth time we've stayed at this quaint hotel. It has a wonderful atmosphere, with so many interesting decorations that have been tastefully arranged. You feel relaxed as soon as you walk through the door. The food is plentiful, tasty and good. The staff very friendly and welcoming. They are very accommodating, especially with our dog, who also... We took the sleeper train from London euston to Inverness and our hosts had breakfast waiting which was just what we needed. Quirky hotel in pretty village, very welcoming and homely, real ales and restaurant - a proper sanctuary for an exploring trip. Good day out then back for delicious food, menu is a delight however simple your tastes, cooked... More
