We stayed here in October and we both agree that we wouldn't stay here again. The best I can say is that the outside doesn't match the inside. It is breathtaking as you drive up -- no doubt. The lobby is a little over done -- too commercial. Our room was disappointing. Tired furnishings. Lousy hair dryer in the bathroom.... more

The hotel has lovely French accents. It was updated while it still kept all its charm. The tennis courts are lovely. The restaurant was great. more

I don't understand any of the negative reviews. The hotel was fabulous. My husband and I stayed one night on our way to Bordeaux from Paris. It was an amazing stop and we loved everything about it. Our room was very floral, haha....but it added character. We played some tennis, went for a bike ride, had a dip in the... more

We stayed two nights at Chateau d'Artigny while on our honeymoon through France. My new husband was a bit bummed after our dingy hotel room in Paris, but when we pulled into Artigny his breath was swept away. Although I had booked an inexpensive (128 euro/night) room in one of the pavilions through the hotel website, since it was our... more

Chateau D'Artigny seems to evoke mixed reviews--all the way from "most wonderful hotel ever" to "way overpriced and I'd never go back." Based on my experience I think a lot depends upon how you set your expectations. This place first captured my attention in a Relais and Chateau guide in the late 70s/early 80s. I gazed longingly at the picture... more

We loved this chateau. Our room was in the main building. It was clean and large and decorated in a vintage pattern fabric, with a small plasma TV and antique furniture. There was a lot of place to keep our clothes. The bathroom was large too, in pink marble, and the toilet was separate as French ones usually are. Sevice... more

Driving into Montbazon started to ring alarm bells. We had driven down from Rheims and coming into Montbazon with its many retail-outlets lining the road was offputting. Nevertheless, when we finally reached the hotel we were excited to be there as the main reception building looked very nice (although staff were snooty in complete contrast to the fantastic Relais &... more

A lovely hotel though very expensive, staff were very helpful and were very friendly. Arrived 9pm after trip from Dordogne and staff got us into restaurant straight away. A beautiful dining room from a bygone age with guests dressed for dinner. Food very good and service attentive. Room no 37 (Euro 420 ) could have been better, sneaked in to... more

We just spent two nights at the Chateau. The property is lovely, the rooms ok. Unique in that the bathroom was up a flight of stairs. The room was clean and I felt like I was in another world (which was good!) Pool area was nice and clean. Unfortunately it was not the best weather so we couldn't use it!... more

This was an extremely disappointing experience. The property and the common rooms are beautiful; the guest rooms are a disaster. They are old, rundown, and are not clean. There is absolutely nothing luxurious about the accomodations. I asked to see other rooms and they were as equally gross. This place is completed overrated. The staff is very rude. There are... more
