These cabins are fantastic! We booked here hoping to stay with our in-laws, but wound up being just me, my husband, and our baby. It was a little too much cabin for just the 3 of us, but we enjoyed it anyway. :) Spacious living room/kitchen/dining area with sleeper couch, along with big bathroom and cozy bedroom. Everything we needed... More

We stayed at Currant Ridge Cabins for two nights while visiting McCarthy. We are so happy with the choice we made! Currant Ridge is by far the best place to stay in both McCarthy and Kennecott. The cabins were huge! The main room had a large kitchen with a dining table, as well as a pull-out couch and a coffee... More

Our family rented four of these delightful little houses. Could not have been more perfect. The hosts are so gracious. The houses are immaculate and contain everything needed to stay for a day, week or month. The setting is beautiful and it is a great jumping off place to visit McCarthy and Kennecott.

Greatly enjoyed our stay in these spacious, clean and well designed cabins. We have stayed in cabins all over Alaska and what Andy and Cynthia have done with Currant Ridge sets a new standard for visitor accommodations. As a bonus, they are sweet and friendly and go out of their way to help their guests. A real pleasure. We have... More

Stayed in Kennicott and McCarthy at three different places and Currant Ridge was the most relaxing and hospitable of them all. Spacious well appointed clean cabins with full private bathrooms and well appointed kitchens with coffee grinder and beans (even decaf, most a appreciated). Surrounded by lush woods and wonderful views of the St Elias/ Wrangel heights. A welcome respite... More

Oh my...how to start! First you have to decide you want to make the drive and have the adventure of Wrangell St. Elias. I say go for it but know what you are in for. It's a long drive. Stop for gas frequently and pack food. But what a reward once you reach McCarthy and Currant Ridge. Unless you want... More

Highly recommend these cabins as a place to stay while visiting McCarthy and surrounding area. The location gives you a chance to experience the Alaskan outdoors. The cabins are sparkling clean and well furnished, and the hosts, Andy and Cynthia, are welcoming and helpful with recommendations of things to do in the area. Sitting on the front porch of the... We loved Current Ridge. Stayed there mid September towards the end of the season. Totally amazed at the cleanliness, hospitality, and loved having all the amenities of home... So far away. Will be booking another Cabin in 2014.

From park rangers to tour guides to the folks at the McCarthy Saloon - all commented we picked "the place to stay" in the national park area. A friendly vibe from the owners and staff from check-in, to requesting more towels to explaining how we destroyed the cabin coffee pot. Large living spaces with great beds and coach pull-outs, plus... More

We stayed 3 nights and were very impressed with the new cabins, spotlessly cleam and extremely comfortable. Great fully stocked kitchenette with everything you would need to prepare your meals. The small settlement of McCarthy is over the river (no vehicle access) and thus preparing your own meals is a good option. We highly recommend the Currant Ridge cabins Doug... More
