We spent 11 days in Alaska. Wrangell St. Elias and Currant Ridge was a highlight of the trip. We had a nice drive out with out and construction. Currant Ridge Cabins was a beautiful place to stay. We love that they are self sufficient using solar power and the greenhouse was beautiful. The cabin was well equipped with everything we... More

After 2+ weeks in Alaska, from the Kenai to Denali to Valdez, Wrangell/St.Elias was our favorite location. Currant Ridge was also the best accommodation of the whole trip. Super clean, roomy, private, and comfortable. Highly recommend the mill tour, raft trip, and glacier hike.

We enjoyed the Currant Ridge Cabins very much. The kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of space. We had a couple of hot nights and it would have been nice if we had more windows to open for circulation. We loved Mccarthy Kennicott and loved the Root Glacier hike. We will be back

You have to want to go to McCarthy, but once there, the trip is truly worth it. Close to the end of a 59 mile dirt road that ends at the foot bridge leading to McCarthy, Currant Ridge is perfectly situated for exploring Kennecott and the surrounding area of the Wrangell/ St Elias National Park. The five cabins are simply... More

Comfortable accommodations with space in each unit. We had 2 people and a dog and it was perfect. The cooking facilities were a kitchenette and grill outside. The full size fridge and freezer held the food we had brought with us. The solid surface floors were easy to keep clean. And the large open lawn was a nice spot to... More

My husband and I stayed at the Currant Ridge Cabins for 3 nights in June. The road to the cabins has the reputation of being somewhat treacherous and we approached with some trepidation. This turned out to be completely unwarranted as we found the gravel surface to be quite well maintained. Our cabin, Kennecott, was situated high on the ridge... More

The kitchen was well stocked with high quality kitchen ware, including coffee and tea. The grill on the deck was excellent and we had lovely evenings on the deck with a wonderful view. I'd recommend this lodging for anyone who wants to access McCarthy and Kennicott. The owners are environmentally friendly, as well.

Our cabin #3 was well equipped with all cooking utensils needed for us to prepare our meals including a gas grill on the back porch. The cabin was very large and we really liked its setup. From the back porch we had a great view of the Park and could hear the river flowing in the valley below. We spotted... More

I recently visited Currant Ridge Cabins and spoke with the owners about their operation. The cabins were beautifully built down to the smallest detail. The grounds are well kept, and they are able to run almost the entire operation off of solar. They have a beautiful greenhouse and are contributing to the local community with fresh vegetables and local honey.... More
