currant ridge cabins is the best place it stay in the McCarthy area. the cabins are great and not far from the foot bridge to go into McCarthy. You have every thing you need, if you want to do your own cooking. I could live in these cabins year round.

We spent one night at Currant Ridge only because the didn't have availability for two nights. I can see why! These beautiful cabins are nestled among trees and berry bushes and they are cozy and comfortable. The deck was wonderful for morning coffee and evening wine. All the necessities for cooking or grilling and they are totally solar powered! Fresh... More

You do not expected to have a so beautiful place just outside the road! It is closed to the National Park too. Cabins are gorgeous with everything inside! The owners are very nice and they helped us much better then the tourist information:-)

The cabin was very modern and larger than we were expecting. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots & pans. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary coffee. The location is right next to the National Park which made it very convenient for us. I highly recommend Currant Ridge Cabins. The owners were very helpful is providing information to help us plan our... More

We stayed at Currant Ridge for two nights at the end of our holiday in Alaska. Our cabin 'Chitina' was clean, comfortable and spacious. We made good use of the veranda thanks to some beautiful weather, there are lovely mountain views and also the gardens are beautifully maintained. Best to bring provisions with you and use the fully equipped kitchen... More

This property is just perfect. Far enough away from "town" to feel isolated but with all of the amenities and privacy. Hot, hot water with great pressure is a huge plus after spending three days in the back country! Fresh produce was readily shared by the hosts, the cabins are well made and the furnishings are updated and well cared... More

We stayed outside McCarthy at the Currant Ridge Cabins for 4 nights. The cabin was clean, comfortable and a scenic spot to enjoy the area. They provided fresh coffee beans and a fully appointed kitchen. After each day of hiking and adventuring in McCarthy and Kennicott, our two couples returned to the cabin for ambiance, relaxation and an adult beverage.... More

This was our 9th vacation in Alaska and our 2nd to W-SE/McCarthy, both times staying at Currant Ridge. Simply can't say enough about the quality of everything. The cabins are very modern and very clean, and the hosts make you feel like you're staying with family. They offered us fresh veggies from their greenhouse, brought us an air bed for... More

We spent there one night which was not enough. I wish we had much more time there. The "cabin" is actually a full apartment with a kitchen, very nicely furnished. Well located as a base for tours into McCarthy. Need to take into account that there is no cellular reception or Wi Fi (unless you have a local cellular). If... More
