We were lucky to have found La Garrigue, having booked only weeks prior to our arrival during peak holiday period in the Dordogne. Expectations were high based on the friendly welcome of Elizabeth and Charles and the advertised photos/amenities found on their website (note that this place is also called "gites-at-garrigue"). We had a delightful family holiday at La Garrigue. The location suited us perfectly; nestled in the beautiful Dordogne countryside surrounded by fields of sunflowers and vineyards. The entourage of these gites is very nice, but the owners clearly haven't invested anything for years in the actual facilities, with garden and interior furniture literally falling apart, and the interior in general being old and tacky. We have been 4 times now to Bergerac and each time we find something new,its safe cultural,andfun offering shops a waterpark,river trips We stayed in a gite about 10 miles away from Bergerac Called Gites at Garrigue owned by an English couple Charles and Elizabeth if you want a relaxing Break or longer holiday but you have to be prepared...
