Small hotel situated away from it all at the top of a hill overlooking Bettona. Great views across the valley to Assisi. Main building is a villa with lovely terrace, pool and tennis court. Rooms are located in buildings around the villa. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are traditionally furnished. I would have preferred a shower cubicle rather than... More

Our visit was only one night, but it was perfect. We had spent the afternoon at the Perugina Chocolate factory and wanted to stay in the area. Our rooms were comfortable with simple elegance. Great for a restful night. We used the pool briefly, just before a brief, but torrential rain storm. The area gleamed after the storm, so it... More

As part of a month long tour of Italy, my wife and I spent three nights at this hotel. Situated high above Bettona, this was a really unique experience. It combined both elegance (the main lodge and restaurant), and relaxed (the rooms located away in quads and apartments up and down the hill). The room accommodations were fairly basic but... More

We stayed in this gorgeous place in three different occasions in the last 4 years. Always had a good time. Is such a well located place. We stayed in the apartments twice and once in the B&B. It is very well clean, and the service is very good too. The long views from the restaurant are great! You can even... More

On our cycle tour through Umbria, one of the hotels we stayed in was Il Poggio degli Olivi. A beautiful 17th century hotel on top of a hill near Assisi, with a marvelous view. Our room was very spacious with its own terras. The staff was very friendly and did their best to make our stay pleasant. The food and... More

We found that "Little Hill of Olive trees" was a beautiful and convenient place. I agree with many of the other reviewers, the welcome was a tad bit cold. I always felt as if I was imposing. The towns people are very friendly. You can't let little things get in the way. We enjoyed our room, other than the whirlpool... More

We had lunch here in early November and loved it - good, sometimes very good food, smart but relaxed atmosphere, heavenly autumnal views. It's a good distance from the main road, but well signposted and easy enough to find. We can only comment on the restaurant, but we had a great time.

When you arrive at the Poggio on a nice Autumn afternoon, if the sky is sunny and open, if you can see this marvelous view on a white Assisi in the distance, this seems a heavenly place to be, but ... Uninterested welcome (felt like I was just that next tourist). We were told where to find the restaurant and... More

On top of the hill near Bettona..... a great family-run vacationparc. What a lovely family. Grandpa, Son, granddaughter, etc...all working hard to make your stay memorable. The restaurant they run is one of the best in the neighbourhood.. The swimmingpool, the views on the valley and the wonderfull surroundings...all great ingredients for a wonderfull stay. The rooms can do little... More

Our experience of Il Poggio was that it is really overrated. We stayed in a separate villa half way down the hill, and not in the rooms near the pool which we understand are better. There was no hot water, no views, no airconditioning, no phone, and not enough space for us to sit and chat inside (it was 36... More
