We had a lovely few days there with our hostess and staff most helpful on things and places to go. What a great location , on the beach, with horses up and down, walkers, wading birds, and oyster farming out in the bay at low tide. Walked to the local pub , but beach was better than food.into Dunmore East... More

It is hard to say which there is more of in the air in Woodstown, salt or tranquility.Miles of quiet beach, waders feeding on the sand when the tide is out. Sent 2 nights in gorgeous Gaultier Lodge with friends from London who had stayed there before. We arrived to an afternoon tea beside the fire with delicious goodies like Vanilla Kipferl... More

Recently I had occassion to stay at Gaultier Lodge. It wasn't my first visit and had visited a couple of times previosly at different times of the year. My excuse to visit Waterford was for the pre- viewing at Mount Congreve, another beautiful house in the county. Where better to stay than at Gaultier Lodge with a very genial host... More

Despite booking a room for 4th August as early as 6th February and having many email communications since, this woman has chosen to cancel my booking. She assured me that there was no requirement for me to put down a deposit as she doesn't take Credit Cards. I then emailed her requesting a room for other family members as we... More

Gaultier Lodge is right on the beach, situated in a lovely garden off a quiet lane. The sand on the beach is perfect for building sandcastles. The seaside views are spectacular from within the house, as you're sitting by a lovely warm fireplace, watching the moon rise over the water. The food is wonderful, all prepared by the hostess Sheila, who... More

I stayed in Gaultier Lodge last summer. We were there for a long weekend when attending a wedding in the city. It came to mind again when thinking where to go this year. The house is situated on a lovely beach and bay in Waterford harbour. It is a deceptive house. When you enter from the road it looks like a... More

The very moment I stepped under the generous canopy of the ancient Holm oak at the gate entrance, I knew that I was entering an entrancing world, serene, welcoming and oozing with personality. The hall door opens onto a restful green library styled hall. It is filled with an eclectic range of books on gardening, archaeology, historical biography, riding books,... More

My husband and I stayed in Gaultier Lodge recently and we would highly recommend it. Firstly the location is stunning, the lovely Woodstown Beach is literally a stones throw away and there are amazing views from the bedroom, dining and drawing room. Sheila is a great hostess, very friendly and a great cook. Breakfast was lovely and we had dinner... More

Stayed here for our first night off the ferry from Rosslare before travelling down to our friends in West Cork. This was a wonderful find - the house oozes charm and classic elegance without being fussy and you feel relaxed from the moment you enter. The surroundings are beautiful - the lovely garden and the beach in front - where... More

Gaultier is a very special place. The house is a wonderful old-fashioned Irish home and with well appointed large ensuite bedrooms and very comfortable drawing and dining rooms. Dining was first class; Sheila Molloy is an excellent cook, and we had the choice of our own wine or a several good choices that Sheila keeps for guests. We found the... More
