We were part of a party of sixteen for a family reunion, and Joe and Noreen, ably assisted by the speedy Mary could not have done more to make our stay memorable. From special meals and puddings for the kids, to laying on a high tea at short notice, it was all marvellous. The food was excellent, the room was... More

After doing some research on somewhere for a nice, value for money and exclusive for a short break we came upon Ballyrafter. Really nice place, secluded, private, friendly and alot of charm. Very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, we were made feel at home. Food was also very good. it was nice waking up to a view of... More

We stayed recently for two nights and were very disappointed by the room. We booked several weeks in advance and despite being some of the few people to stay two nights and being amongst the earliest to arrive we were given a small twin room. In fact it was two interconnecting rooms with the second being really a small corridor... More

It is most disappointing to read such a review, Bedroom No 101 is normally used as a Single or for Short stay, but with the demand high on the weekend of The Festival ,we outlined this being the last room available and it's configuration at the time of booking. The rate Charged for this room was 30% less than any... More

My wife and her great friend stayed on the weekend of the Lismore Castle concert and this lovely hotel made their weekend special they told me. The hotel owners could not be more accomodating and helpful. The girls had dinner which they said was excellent, the breakfast was also super. Seek out this place and enjoy the experience. I hope... The Ballyrafter is located about a 10-15 walk from Lismore. The first impression of the B@B is amazing. Driving up the short drive through the trees you come to a large impressive home surrounded by gorgeous lawns and flowering bushes. We were met by Noreen and shown to our room which was spectacular with 14 ft ceilings, a large side... More

Compared to Lismore House Hotel ( Avoid like the plague)Ballyrafter Country House Hotel is a gem. We ate here as a couple and the second evening as group of 10 during The Lismore Antique & Fine Art Fair. We would have also stayed but there were no rooms available. The food here is very good and is definetly the place... More

We stayed just for one night but really enjoyed it. A cordial welcome, a very nice room and a service not only friendly but thoughtful (e.g. our beds were heated for us while we were still sipping Whiskey at the fireplace in the drawing). Cuisine was excellent, especially the deserts and drinks perfectly accompanied the food. 5 stars from us... More

As my title suggests Ballyrafter really is a Haven of tranquility. From the moment we arrived the cares and worries of the outside world disappeared and relaxation took over. Pre-dinner drinks by the fire in the bar (albeit which is a little dated and somewhat out of character with the rest of the house) set the scene for the delicious... More

We spent a wonderful cosy easy week-end in Ballyrafter in March. Relaxing, warm, welcoming, and all very natural, with absolutely no fuss. Its like what you'd wish home to be like! We'll be back for sure. N&J
