We visit Lismore annually and if occupancy allows we love to stay at Ballyrafter. This is a lovely country house hotel with comfortable rooms, great breakfast and amazing views of the castle and rabbits playing on the well tended lawns. The welcome is warm and hospitable. I had a great night's sleep and while floorboards creak and plumbing complains..the shower... More

We had a quick one night stay for two with a lovely meal and drinks in the bar. Staff were brilliant, and Joe proved a real sport in taking out the cabinet Waterford crystal and posting on my forgotten earrings. Will definitely return with the kids! Highly recommend.

We recently stayed here & it proved an excellent base to explore both the mountains & coastline of beautiful southern Ireland. Plus right on your doorstep is Lismore Castle which can be seen whilst relaxing in the gardens. Couldn't fault the food at all (inc amazing starters & desserts) & the staff were perfect with plenty of Irish charm. Can't... More

We stayed in this beautiful Country House Hotel recently and enjoyed a very special dinner. Room was very well appointed & great breakfast. Unfortunately we had booked last minute & could not secure a second night as the Hotel & every other place around was booked out for a local wedding. Very relaxing atmosphere with very professional & friendly staff.... More

I was fortunate enough to stay at the Ballyrafter recently for a family reunion. The hosts Joe and Noreen could not have been more welcoming or more accommodating. The hotel is in such a picturesque setting surrounded by mature trees and the grounds were perfect for lazing in the sunshine and playing football or boule is sight of the castle.... More

We were part of a party of sixteen for a family reunion, and Joe and Noreen, ably assisted by the speedy Mary could not have done more to make our stay memorable. From special meals and puddings for the kids, to laying on a high tea at short notice, it was all marvellous. The food was excellent, the room was... More

After doing some research on somewhere for a nice, value for money and exclusive for a short break we came upon Ballyrafter. Really nice place, secluded, private, friendly and alot of charm. Very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, we were made feel at home. Food was also very good. it was nice waking up to a view of... More

We stayed recently for two nights and were very disappointed by the room. We booked several weeks in advance and despite being some of the few people to stay two nights and being amongst the earliest to arrive we were given a small twin room. In fact it was two interconnecting rooms with the second being really a small corridor... More

It is most disappointing to read such a review, Bedroom No 101 is normally used as a Single or for Short stay, but with the demand high on the weekend of The Festival ,we outlined this being the last room available and it's configuration at the time of booking. The rate Charged for this room was 30% less than any... More

My wife and her great friend stayed on the weekend of the Lismore Castle concert and this lovely hotel made their weekend special they told me. The hotel owners could not be more accomodating and helpful. The girls had dinner which they said was excellent, the breakfast was also super. Seek out this place and enjoy the experience. I hope... The Ballyrafter is located about a 10-15 walk from Lismore. The first impression of the B@B is amazing. Driving up the short drive through the trees you come to a large impressive home surrounded by gorgeous lawns and flowering bushes. We were met by Noreen and shown to our room which was spectacular with 14 ft ceilings, a large side... More
