We wished we had arrived earlier to enjoy the cottage for a little longer. After some delicious tea and homemade treats we relaxed in our comfy room overlooking the brook until dinner. Our meal exceeded our expectations in every way. The service is personal and attentive, it's just so homey there you don't have that restaurant feel. I hate to... More

Tea and scones in front of a blazing fire. A really excellent dinner followed by a most comfortable bed in a well equipped bedroom with a large bathroom. Next morning, a memorable breakfast. Interestingly, both meals were much better than the '5 star' hotel in which we had stayed on the previous night. We will stay there again

There are no faults with Hanora's cottage! its magical each time we stay. Breakfast is divine. Eoin and Judith bought us tea and cakes (still hot from coming out the oven) which went down a treat as normal! (thank you Eoin) Mary, you do a fantastic job there, and we hope the hampers are almost finished for you to have... More

Thanks to Mary and her wonderful team for an extremely relaxing weekend. A warm and welcoming home from home with delicious wholesome food.... the best scones I've ever tasted. They were a credit to Mary and very much appreciated after a long but thoroughly enjoyable trudge round the coomlara loop. This is a must for anyone seeking a cosy rest... More

Took another trip east to Hanora's after a few years and was not disappoointed! As before, the welcome was amazing - greeted by the lovely friendly staff with coffee and cakes. Time out before a terrific meal - do try the scallop starter and the lemon tart! Breakfast was a stunning array of fresh and poached fruit, yoghurt, cheeses, smoked... More

If you can find a better place to stay than Hanora's cottage please let me know, but you will have your work cut out. On arrival we received a lovely welcome and after being shown our room went down to complimentary tea and cakes in front of a wonderful fire. The sitting room was just perfect with lovely furniture and... More

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed in and looked after as if we were part of the family - it's a real home from home. Ina and Ann appeared with pots of tea and cakes and from there on it just got better! Super food. A great base to walk and explore the Nire Valley and the Comeraghs.... More

Thank you so much for your fantastic accomodation, the great staff, the very fine restaurant and especially the huge hospitality during our stay. By the way, the Sean Kelly Comeragh Challenge was a fabulous experience for me and I enjoyed the whole 160 K. I even had the luck to have a nice talk with Sean Kelly!!.

Your host here makes you feel totally at home and relaxed. The service is second to none and nothing is too much trouble. The dinner was top class and breakfast was delicious and they even had homemade brown bread. You will chill out as soon as you enter the front door. For cyclist and walking this is ideal.
