We stopped overnight in Waterval Boven (sadly, our last night in Africa) en route from Hoedspruit to Jo'berg. What a wonderful B&B! Norma & Holger were friendly hosts and our rib dinner was both inexpensive and memorable! Our large and very comfortable room (with bushman-sized basin and bath) led directly out on to the viewing deck where we enjoyed cheap... More

Deck has a beautiful view which does not make up for the accommodation. We were shown to our room in the middle of the house (it is only a house) right behind the bar / breakfast area. Bathroom was old & outdated. Not what we expected. We checked out without staying there.

Hosts are very attentive and warm. I appreciated chatting to Norma, the garden and Valley view, but mostly impressed by the areas stone circles phenomenon and hope to return and explore more. Would want to try the hiking trails that go to rock pools apparently. Would stay in the cottage next time. A great stopover on way to/from the sights... More

Stayed here our first night in S.A - conveniently situated between Joburg and Kruger park. Nice, big and clean rooms. Huge verandah for a sundowner with a fantastic view. They have a cosy bar and serve dinner which was nice. Breakfast out on the verandah was great. Would definitely stay here again!

The accommodation is well located on the way to Kruger park with superb views on the mountains. The Zebra room is huge, clean and well decorated with a direct access to the wooden balcony, great night! The swimming pool was not heated and really dirty, we decided not to use it. Our disappointment mainly came from the dinner, served 90... More

My partner and I spent 4 nights at Acra Lodge in December 2014 and it was a real pleasure to stay there. We had a very warm welcome from everyone and Norma in particular, who was super helpful in practical travel and sight-seeing advice and generally a super hostess. The view is 5 star, the decor fab, with a real... More

Our plan was to book a 'stop-over' transit hotel after flying in from the UK. What we got was an amazing guest house with great food and the warmest of welcomes. Norma gave us such a warm welcome and ensured that, during our whole stay, we couldn't want for anything. Our room was enormous and beautifully fitted out with every... More

We stopped over for 1 night on our way from JHB to Hoedspruit and were welcomed as though we were part of the family. The view is breathtaking, the service is impeccable and food & drinks are delicious. If you visit, be sure to have a Kak-in-die-mielies shooter in the bar!

What a weekend, thanks to Norma and Holger and the rest of the staff. You have made our weekend very very special and know for a fact that we cannot wait for our next visit. Our accommodation was private ( Crocodile cottage ) just the way we like it. The rest of the rooms are also nice and will surely... More

When you get out of a plane that has taken you overnight from Frankfurt to Jo'burg where you tried to get some sleep sitting up with no room for your legs other than in an rather strange position you don't want to drive another 450 kilometers to get to the Kruger. This is the place to stopover for the night.... More
