If you want to be away from the hustle bustle and do nothing but be with nature, the Chail Palace is the place to go to. Though its barely 30 - 40 kms from Shimla, it is not yet a very touristy destination. The palace is clean, calm, lovely spacious rooms and a beautiful lawn. The hotel staff were very... More

A mind blowing awesome Heritage Palace preserved to the actual; but being run by government board, average service and non-courteous staff. Room utilities like broken kettle, average cleanliness of linen adds to being a place that you won't visit again. Example: In breakfast, we asked for corn flakes with milk; a blunt answer from the staff that today's menu is... More

Palace effect to the most. If you like the ambiance like a kings life go for it. Make sure you book the Kings room. Food is not ok. Not much to boast about. Our room was a lil small but high roofs. :-)

Nice and clean ambienace, well kept, restaurant is good (though timings are strict), Garden Cafe operational only in May-June. Slightly costly... No heavy traffic, no pollution, fantastic weather.... Wonderful place to relax as it is calm and cool location!

It was really an amazing experience. It has several types of rooms like "maharaja room", "rajkumar room", "rajkumari room", "vajir room" and several log huts. The rooms are exceptionally big with a good taste of decor. The antique mirror hung on the wall just above the fireplace is extremely fascinating. The adjoining garden is very beautiful. The restaurant has a... More

We stayed in huts... which are a bit away from main palace complex and the stay was just ok- pros:- -Absolute solitude, which was quite romantic. Huts are located about 500 m away from main palace complex, amongst towering deodar trees. Food was good. Cons: -Since it was away from main block and restaurant. every time one has to walk... More

It is indeed worth a visit, Chail is tranquil, so serene, so beautiful and the vey well set palace. BUT cottages need to be refurbished. Some of the cottages are way sub standard. If some one want to stay in family cottages i would suggest them Naldhera instead of Chail hptdc cottages.

Situated in a serene area, spread across 180 acres. We visited this place in the rainy season. With rooms at 25% off during the off season, we got a pretty nice deal. We stayed at the main palace, though just for curiosity, we wanted to have a look at other rooms outside the main palace, but in the same premises.... More
