Container-style hotel where things mainly work. Excellent receptionist when we were there. Ready to solve any problem. Basic rooms but hot water YES, a/c YES, cleaning service & laundry YES. Very small parking. Basic restaurant. Very convenient hotel for early morning flights (+delays: they take you back in case..).
I always go there for lunch..they have a nice variety of cusines in the menue, however my favorite is ethiopian food..clean restaurant, conditioned and friendly atmosphere. great value for money..and close to the airport and town,i enjoyed going there every single time during my one year stay in juba.
If you compare whats available in Juba then you'd have to say that Shalom is OK. Its nothing special and the location is very down-market but hey its Juba. Its pricey like eveywhere else in town but the rooms are clean and the food wont make you sick.
The hotel is located close to the airport, however the quarter is bad, personel in the restaurant is indifferent and incurious. At the beginning of breakfast time all tables were still dirty from last night and waiters were not keen on cleaning them. Rooms are not better than simple huts, the bathrooms are rotten and mouldy.
