Our Spanish friends who live in Cantabria took us here for lunch and it was excellent. It was extremely busy on a Saturday, popular with locals as well as tourists. The portions are huge so order with care. Authentic Cantabrian stew is what we chose and it was delicious , made with chickpeas, cabbage, potatoes, sausage and pork swilled down... More

We have visited Casa Cayo twice, for multiple nights each time. It is totally charming, a perfect base for hiking the Picos or for resting between hikes. Staff is pleasant. Food is terrific and nicely priced. Local special cocidi is a must, as is their Fabada. Don't miss the Ruta de Queso, either. Cheeses are wonderful.

We recently spent some time in the area walking - this is a rustic family run country place and just how it should be. The bar is the main hub for the locals & guests alike. The last week of September was pretty quiet in all the local establishments except this one, which says a lot about the staff who... More

Stayed two nights in the beautiful town of Potes in this gem of a hotel. The friendly staff were exceptional, the rooms clean & we'll appointed. The bar & restaurant were excellent. Parking is available a few hundred meters nearby. Highly recommend taking the cable car at Fuente De for a walk in the Picos de Europa National park.

Since I last visited in 2008, the hotel has undergone refurbishment, but has lost none of its charm. Cayo, the owner, who works tirelessly behind the bar, even remembered me from the last time I stayed there! Other members of staff I remembered from previous visits, so he knows how to keep his staff happy as well as his guests.... More

We stayed at Casa Cayo in August. The staff here is excellent; friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The staff perform different tasks throughout the day - I spotted our waitress working as a maid the following morning. The men that operate the hotel front desk also run the restaurant and bar. None of the people working at Casa Cayo seem to... More

We had a very nice experience staying at Casa Cayo. They treated us great, the room had everything you expect of a hotel room: Nice bed, storage space, TV and a well equipped bathroom. Our room had a nice view to the river. Hosts treated us great. They insisted on bringing all our luggage to our room. They were very... More
